Like an idiot, I hooked the damn thing up backwards. As soon as I
connected the negative wire..smoke poured out of where the positive
wire was hooked up. After switching the battery around correctly, the
starter wont work. All of my electrical otherwise is working fine.
I checked my fuses in...

Problem starting when lukewarm by
Spud Demon[_1_]
I have a Del Sol (Honda Civic) Si. It has no problem starting when the
engine is hot or cold, but in between sometimes just doesn't work.
For example, the other day I started it cold and drove 2 miles to a gas
station. After filling up, the car wouldn't restart. It cranked over the
same as...

RWD stick shift "family" car... and fairly recent? by
ray
I give up.
Kid #2 is on the way... so I'm car shopping.
I don't want a minivan, and neither does the wife. However, her Beretta
is 16 years old, my Jimmy is dead, the truck is a regular cab, and the
TA is parked for 6 months of the year.
All I want is a rear wheel drive car* with a stick...

What does cubic inch displacement really mean? by
JMI
Hello,
I know, I've got such a novice question, but what does cubic inch
displacement really mean? I know it can be expressed in "cc"s or even
liters, but what is it really measuring?
Thanks,
Jeff

4bbl carb disable the secondaries by
chevyengine
I would like to disable the secondaries on the 1979 Chevy 4bbl carb. I
have not found any information on how it's done.
I looked at the carb and saw linkage coming from the vacuum diaphargm
going to the secondaries. Is this the linkage?
Is there any information on how to disable the secondaries?

Light began coming on in dash cluster about air lift--back end is in
"up" position, can't seem to get it to go down, even with switch turned
off. What should we be looking at--solenoid/switch problem, compressor
problem, or ????
Thanks!

I've posted here before and you guys have been more than helpful in
each instance! I was wondering if you might be able to come through
for me again?!
Over this past week I've had a belt get really noisy on me (I'm
assuming it's a belt anyway). It is especially bad after it rains.
Here is what I...

Pressing in axle studs?? by
Chief McGee
I just drilled out the axle hubs to 49/64ths. Now am going to press in the
new 5/8" studs for racing. Question is: do I lubricate the serrations on
the studs before pressing them into the holes? If so, with what? Or do I
do it dry?
