alternator question by desperado
I have one of those delco one wire 12v alternators with internal regulator. I was wondering if the regulator part is replaceable as a separate part. should be cheaper than replacing the whole unit assuming all else is ok. -- don paolino

GM Full spool? by 51_racing
Does someone know if anyone makes a full spool for the GM 7.5" rear end? I know there are several manufacturers for the mini spools, but can't find a full spool and don't really want to weld the rear either.

front wheel bearing: knuckle seal & lube? (Chevy) by George[_1_]
('99 Cavalier) (1) FWB/hub needs to be replaced. The new one includes a "knuckle seal", which presses into the knuckle on the inboard side of the bearing. The hub I removed didn't have one, and the Chevy service manual doesn't say anything about one. I'd just as soon not put the seal in,...

GMC Error codes by [email protected]
I need help. I'm trying to figure out how to get the error codes for my 2001 GMC Sonoma pick up. About 3 weeks ago my father replaced the fuel pump, and since then the "check engine" light has been on. 2 days ago the truck wouldn't start at all, but it had ran fine the past 3 weeks. Of course...

Dissatisfied with Discount Tire by [email protected]
I live in Phoenix. I have purchased at least 10 full sets of tires from Discount Tire over the past decade or so, for various cars my family has owned (BMW M3, Porsche 914, Dodge Caravan, Toyota Sienna, Ford Escort). The Sienna recently had a flat tire while we were in Phoenix (Goodyear Forteras,...

decent cheap truck? by [email protected]
I'm in the market for a new used vehicle, and I've never really thought about getting a truck before. But now my circumstances are a little different and it might be practical. My question is, what would be a decent reliable pickup truck to get for around $2000 or so? I'm thinking maybe an F150....

O2 Sensor problem in 97 Geo Prizm by [email protected]
The check engine light came on in my 97 Geo Prizm. The code was P0141 (O2 Heater Circuit (Bank 1, Sensor 2)) and the Chilton manual said that that was the post-convertor O2 sensor. It had a little diagnostic test I could try and so I tried that out and according to the test it was bad. I replaced...

Front wheel bearing/hub removal (Cavalier) by George[_1_]
('99 Cavalier.) Failed NYS inspection, for a bad FWB. I've removed the spindle nut, freed the axle from the hub, and removed the 3 hub flange bolts (T55, BTW). The Chevy book says "remove the hub and bearing assembly." It doesn't seem to be coming quite that easily. It looks like it's kind of...

Secondary AIR injection pump availability, 1996 z28 by Josh Wyatt
Greetings, I'm trying to locate a replacement for the (electric) secondary AIR injection pump for my 1996 Chevy Camaro Z28. 5.7L engine. All the usual sources (autozone, advance auto, etc) tell me this is a "dealer-only" item. Dealership wants ~ $245 for one. I find this a little bit hard to...

transmission solenoid in 2000 Chrysler Cirrus by [email protected]
Okay, I've gotten myself stuck. I've torn my Cirrus apart trying to replace the solenoid pack in it. In theory, after you actually move enough parts, bits and pieces to get to the solenoid pack, you should be able to unbolt the three bolts holding it in and lift it out. Only, I removed the three...
