Best 4x4 vehicle for very long trips in remote wilderness? by
223rem
I'm considering taking a very long road trip to northern Quebec and
Labrador. That's the real North, very remote and wild, with very poorly maintained
gravel roads (huge potholes, etc) and very few gas stations. Later, I'd like to
drive to Yukon territory and Alaska.
Obviously, I'd need a 4x4...

What kind of snow can a F250 drive through? by
toller
I have a cottage about a mile off the paved road. The first half of the
gravel road has 25 degree down slopes and the second half has 25 degree up
slopes. It can have several feet of wet Northeast snow.
5 years ago I tried taking a Rav4 4wd in with about 6" of snow. I got to
the midpoint, but...

are all pick-up trucks 4x4 nowadays? by
[email protected]
I wonder if most of the newly built pick-up trucks (domestic or
imported) are made in four wheel drive?
I recall in the old days that during the winter, pick-up trucks usually
have problem with tractions, and they have to buy bags of sand to make
sure that the rear wheels are not spinning. What...

AX5 Trans Problem by
Thilder via CarKB.com
Folks, I have recently purchased my first Wrangler. It is a 92 4cyl 4wd -
stock. I was able to get it cheap because of a slight issue - it does not go
into gear. My understanding is that it started out not going into 5th gear.
Then, all at once, it would not go into any gear and is currently...

using 4x4 question by
Nobody
I have a question about my 94 F150 4x4 manual 5 speed trans. As most here
probably know ford has 2 hi 4 hi N and 4 low on the transfer case. Plus I
also have manual locking hubs. Now I find myself wanting to use low range
now and then but not the 4x4. So I just leave the hubs unlocked for a 2...

No dash/rear lights on 97 Suzuki Sidekick by
Brian Pipa
Hi all,
I have what looks to be some sort of electrical problem with my 97
Suzuki Sidekick. When I turn on the lights, the headlights come on but
that's about it. No running lights come on, and none of the rear lights
come on at all. Also, the warning beep saying the lights are on when the
car is...

Q:Right-Lock lockers by
Zenteren
I'm owner of a Suzuki samurai. It has a rear 100% manual operating
locker. I'm wondering if I put Detroit Right Lock front locker, how will
this affect on cornering on pavement roads, and slippery surfaces like mud
and ice when all four wheels are in drive, and will this be a problem if it
is in...

4x4 Stolen by
Joe Garcia
My 2002 4Runner was stolen, and then recovered by the police 24 hours
later.
They busted the rear panel of the passenger side window to get in. I
am assuming so because I found tinted broken glass where I last left
my car.
The curious thing is: there is no damage to the steering column nor
the...

Add Hp to Jeep Wrangler SE by
Aaron Timmer
Hey all. I just bought a 2000 Wrangler SE w/ the 2.4L I4 (maybe should
have gone w/ the I6). I would like to add some more horses, as I have
trouble reaching 65 mph o the highway. If anybody has some easy ways to
gain some power relatively cheaply, I would really like to know.
Thanks,
Aaron

1988 Jeep Wrangler Price ? by
reconair
If the previous owner took care of the rig, i.e. regular oil changes, lube,
$2200 would be a good buy. Even if the body looked a little ragged out. I
have 240K on my 91 Wrangler and I wouldn't let go for less than twice the
amount this guy is asking.
