96 Explorer 4wd Transmission not going into OD by
Wil Swaloe
The light was flashing for a short time. 5-6 Minutes, I stopped checked
fluid it was fine. Now the flight isn't flashing, but the transmission won't
shift into OD unless I let off the gas. But as soon as I give any gas, it
will downshift into 3rd.

ticking sound with acceleration by
Lance
All,
Just got my Explorer back after getting the heads replaced. It made a
ticking sound that when I accelerated it would speed up with it. After a
day, the check engine light came on with a code of 1405(Differential
Pressure Feedback EGR DPFE Sensor Upstream Hose Off or Plugged.) I...

[email protected]
I have a 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer with 102k miles and have been
having A/C issues. The A/C will only blow hot air and in addition,
there is a rattling noise when I idle. I took it to a repair shop and
they said the hot air and the rattling are related due to a leak in the
evaporator.

I have a 95 Explorer with 245000 miles on it. My son decided to
take it four wheeling last wheel and fried the clutch while changing
gears on a steep ascent. Now both him and I will have the pleasure of
learning how to replace a clutch. I've started doing some preliminary

Oil filler cap line by
jrchilds
On the tube leading into the engine there is a approx 3/4 " rubber hose
located below the oil filler cap. This line does not connect to
anything, just dead ends to the atmosphere. Is this right or is it
supposed to be connected to something? I looked around, could find no
oblivious place to...

97 odd noise at speed by
Captain Coleman
I have a 97 2wd 4.0 OHV 4-door with 120K miles. In the last few weeks, I
have had a sound at freeway speeds (greater than 65-70 MPH) that sounds like
it is coming from the right front end. It sounds like "mwah" so when I'm
going down the freeway and hit about 70 MPH I hear a mwahmwahmwah.

Blend door - what years affected? by
Al Williams
I found an article on the blend door issue
(http://www.mightyautoparts.com/pdf/articles/otl1200.pdf) that indicates the
issue is for Explorers built between 1995 and April 1998.
Can anyone confirm when Ford updated the problem and how to easily recognize
whether you have the upgraded part?
I have...

Does anyone have a schematic or description of the fuse locations for a

know if that year had a factory cruise control. I have been told mine
is an aftermarket and it is not working so I am chasing the possibility
that a fuse may...

1994 Ford Ranger XLT brake problem by
Ispyu
I recently purchased a 1994 Ranger 5 speed with only 75,000 miles. I
have noticed that the brakes seem to be working except when at a stand
still and constant pressure is applied to brakes the pedal will slowly
go all the way to the floor. Is this a bleeding problem (air in the
line) or something...
