'02 Saturn SC1 Brake Lights by why, me
How are the brake lights activated? The high level stop works but the brake/rear tail lights are not operating. Had them flash once while I was testing to see if anything was working. I know it is possible that both lights are burned out but filament looks good.

Remote starters with high-temp. sensor? by [email protected]
Hello! I've found that you can buy remote starters which have a low-temp sensor that will turn on if the temperature falls below a certain point. I am wondering if anyone knows if there are any companies which sell a starter with a HIGH temp sensor? (go on if temp rises above a...

Parts - Dealership vs Autozone by heathert
Ok, I need a man's help here. My girlfriend and I are arguing about some issues with car parts, and I thought I could get a pretty good answer here. Ok, here is the deal, she has a Lumina, it needs spark plugs, wires, etc..for a tune up. I have always been one to buy the cheapest (but will work)...

Was discussing the SMART car this past week with some colleagues in Europe. It had previously been asked on this board whence the 3 cylinder diesel engine for this carlike little conveyance. The story I got, and have not yet verified, is that this engine was designed and built by Mercedes...

Ford wiring diagrams - translation by [email protected]
I have a CD that 'shows' the wiring diagrams of several Ford cars, and specifically my diesel Ford Focus. The diagrams are loaded with codes and letters which identify electrical items, perhaps their locations and also the conductors/wiring between them. Problem is I can't translate the codes /...

I have a 1985 Jeep wagoneer that has a electrical problem in the dash. The current wiring schematic I have access to shows a rectangular bulk head connector at the dash harness with wires that are described as numbers, however, the vehicle has a round bulk head connector with wires that are labeled...

Exhaust Manifold Issues-Broken Bolt by [email protected]
I was inspecting my exhaust manifold after I received P0420 and P1457 codes on my 98 Accord. One of the nuts is missing and the bolt has been sheared-off from one of the connecting points between my manifold and engine. All others seem to be in fine shape. could this be the cause of my problems,...

Die Grinder vs. Angle Grinder; Cutoff Wheels by Elle
The inner sleeves of some of my 91 Civic's control arm bushings are seized to the bolts. Many posts on Usenet say to use either a die grinder or angle grinder. Is the only difference between the two that the die grinder can get into much smaller places? Which in fact I probably need for...

Generic faultfinding, engine/ECM problem by Tim S
Hi all, Quick question, in the hope of some magic tips :) I've got a 1998 Daewoo Lanos 1.6 (don't laugh) with the Holden (sp?) engine which I *believe* is basically a GM engine. Anyway, it passed it's MOT (UK annual mandatory inspection) on Friday, with flying colours on the emissions, was fine...

'06 Isuzu SUV, 4wd, 2.7 V6 critique by « Paul »
'06 Isuzu SUV, 4wd, 2.7 V6 critique I had to go to Dallas again last week. My choices at Budget were a Jeep Liberty or an Isuzu SUV. I chose the Isuzu because it looked nicer and had more knobs. It was really weird in that it was made for people with very short legs and really long arms. I did...

Stripped bold head holding caliper body. Help! by [email protected]
Hello people, I'm relatively new at this "do it yourself" thing, but things are going well :). I changed the break pads on my Acura Integra GS 1990 on all wheels except the right rear wheel. The top bolt holding the caliper body has its head stipped. How would I go about removing the bolt so I can...

Jeep Cherokee Radiator Drain Valve Leak by Mikelbri
I own a '92 Jeep Cherokee Laredo and I am trying everything to not get rid of it. I love the car to death but I'm putting in more than it's worth. My latest of problems is that the petcock/drain valve on the radiator leaks coolant as if it weren't there. I have tried tightening it but that didn't...
