Two Million Miles in a '66 Volvo P1800 by
Highway Star
Just had to dig this one out of my files. I've never owned a Volvo but
this is an inspirational story for any old-car afficianadoes.
Two Million Mile Volvo
USA Today 3-22-02
WASHINGTON -- Irv Gordon isn't quite the guy he was back in June 1966
when he bought his red Volvo P1800 for $4,150. His...

To those who bought a certified used or pre-owned vehicle by
techman41973
I will be purchasing a used vehicle in the near future. Most likely a
Honda or Lexus.
I'm highly considering a certified used vehicle (manufacturer
certified).
Is it still a good idea to have an independent mechanic look over
the vehicle before buying?
Or can you trust the certification...

Leaves kid in car - Arrested and released on $100,000 bail by
Laura Bush murdered her boy friend
Seems kind of too-too to me. The sunroof was left open and the kid
was unharmed but he was still booked on willful cruelty to a child.
If he'd been caught doing something really dangerous like drunk
driving or doing 100 mph with a kid in the car, nobody would have
batted an...

Code P0335 by
Grandma
2004 S10 Blazer 4.3L. Engine idles rough and when shifting the tach will
suddenly jump to around 4000 RPM. The scanner retrieved code P0335. After
replacing the crank shaft position sensor there was no improvement. The
mechanic tried a different electronic ignition module. Still no improvement....

Vibration at 65-70mph by
Damron
I drive a 2003 Jetta Wagon. This car normally has nice handling in
the 75-80mph range.
This week, I took my car down a logging road. As I got further down
the road, I was committed to maintaining my speed of 30-35mph due to
soft sand. While this road was pretty smooth, it did bottom out...

Caymen S by
-oo0-GoldTrader-0oo-
The new Porsche looks like a mid-engined 911. They must want to make
the rear-engined car handle better like the Boxster and the GT!

Ticketed for Flashing my Head Lights in Florida by

I'm posting this in several groups looking for input about this.
The main group is misc.legal
But I do want to open up part of this again and if by this Usenet...

ORPHAN CARS DISCUSSION by
krp
I try to get some discussion going from time to time on the great orphan
cars, like Studebaker, Packard, Kaiser, Nash, Willys and the others. We
have had brief discussions on the Studebakers. What of the Willys
Automobiles?

Current production cars with the smallest engines by
aniram
What car brands that are currently still in production and have the
smallest engines?
I recall some small Japanese cars, like Daihatsu, Mazda500 (500cc),
Fiat600 or 750 (600cc and 750cc).
How big of an engine is BMW Isetta? Is it still being produced now?
What about French cars .. .like Citroen CV,...

How Do I Get the Water Out When Changing Antifreeze? by
jim evans
I've had this problem with most of the cars I've owned.
When you read instructions for changing antifreeze they almost always
say something to the effect that, "It's simple. Anyone can do it."
Then proceed to give some simpleminded drain and refill instructions.
Well, I've rebuilt engines and...

What's So Bad About Consumer Reports? by
RobertG1
Greetings,
Recently I posted a message to an auto newsgroup, it may have been this one,
and I had replys of disapproval for my choice of where I got my auto
information. I said I read Car and Driver and Consumer Reports. It was the
second of these that I was given a hard time about. I don't see...

getting spare tire off of a Plymouth Voyager...? Help! by
fear
I'm trying to change a friend's tire on a Plymouth Voyager. The spare
is underneath the vehicle in back. There seems to be a bolt of some
sort holding it in, with not much of a 'lip' to be able to grab on and
turn it with. I've been doing this for at least half an hour
collectively, and it has come...

CASTOL EDGE by
krp
Castrol's new synthetic. Edge seems to be getting good reviews everywhere. I
have been using Mobil one in my CR-V since I got it. Just did my first
change to Edge. The engine is noticeably more quiet. Not dramatic, but it is
more quiet and if you listen you can hear it is slightly different. The...
