2000 SL1 Broken wires by
ns
Well, I think I deserved this: previously I owned another GM rust
bucket (1982 Century), and aside from the usual issues it had, the most
annoying one was wires (that is, electrical wires) that tended to break
wherever they flexed the most (doors, trunk, and to a much lesser
extent, the hood).
So,...

Anyone have any clue what type of headlight bulbs they use and how to
change one. The thing is so tight in there it looks damn near impossible.

Replacing heater core on lw300 by
Oppie[_2_]
I darn near choked when I saw a puddle of coolant on the passenger side
floor. Having replaced heater cores on other vehicles, I know that usually
the entire dashboard gets removed. I was pleasantly surprised on the '01
lw300 to find that the hoses all snap apart fairly easily and the core
itself...

sticky left/right shifting - 1999 SL1 by
[email protected]
Trying to help my buddy; his '99 SL1 has recently started getting
difficult to shift left-to-right - like, between 1/2, 3/4, and 5/R
positions on the shift pattern. I popped off the clip at the transaxle
for the left-right cable, and it was still sticky, indicating it's not
the tranny.
Any ideas?...

1995 Saturn - noisy valves ???? by
Brian[_14_]
I just bought a 95 Saturn SL1 - 1.9 SOHC. The valves sound noisy to me, almost like mechanical
lifters out of adjustment. Is this noisy valve train common to these 4 bangers ???? It's got plenty
of frest oil and a filter. The car has 145,000 miles....
Thanks
Brian

Mystery-solution? by

I had been having a problem with high idle in summer heat when running the
AC and especially a drop in gas mileage of about 5-6 mpg....heavy soot
deposit around the outlet of exhaust pipe...rich mixture.
I changed the plugs, cleaned sensors etc....all the things that were
suggested by the...

Need pictures of installed air deflector on a 1996 SC2 by
Ted Wong
Hello:
I'm in the middle of repairing several years' worth of weather damage
to the front end of my 1996 SC2. As part of the repair, I'm putting in
a new lower air deflector to replace one that succumbed to a snowbank +
parking space stop. I can't find any information anywhere on how to
attach the...

Just curious: is it "voo", or "vyew", or "vee-yew-eee", or what?

[email protected]
Hi,
Just Bought a 1996 SL2 with only 60K for my 2 teenagers to drive.
Woo Hoo They Love it!!!

few different inch/ft lbs ideas but no bolt order.

2008 Vue Hybrid by
fish
Has anyone actually seen this new Hybrid yet?
I like the fact that they put the gas filling cap back on the driver's side,
but it is still not self-locking to prevent gasoline theft.
The aggressive approach GM is taking to make their lineup go green with
Hybrid technology at prices lower than...

Sticky gear shifter on a 2001 SL1 by
Peter[_8_]
Recently my gear shifter has gotten noticeably heavier to move -- it
used to pop into neutral when released from a gear, for instance, and
now it has to be moved with some force. The car still drives fine, but
I'm concerned this is the beginning of more serious trouble. What could
be causing...

2000 LS1 airbag light stays lit... by
Aaron D. Kemp
The airbag indicator light stays lit on my 2000 Saturn LS1 when the
temperature is below 20 degrees farenheit. Once the car has warmed up and I
restart, the light does not stay lit.
Any ideas or experience?

2000-2002 SL2 Stereo install by
[email protected][_1_]
I searched and I searched and found no useful tips on how to do this,
so I just decided to do it and hope for the best. Here is what I did
(and the stereo works and no loose bits hanging out).
What you will need:
1. a well lit area or a friend with a bright flashlight
2. Mini socket set (or full...

Funky Bolt by
JimR
I am trying to replace the upper seatbelt retractor in my 97 SL2. It is
hidden behind the trim on the B-post, near the floor. There is a single
bolt and a cutout key holding it in place.
The bolt is quite large, a T-50 Star head. I have a hunch that it may
hold more in place than the...

1995 Saturn SL1 - fuel tank capacity ??? by
Brian[_14_]
I just bought a 1995 Saturn SL1 which doesn't have the owners manual with it. I was wondering what
the fuel tank capacity was. The gauge was just above empty and it only took 10 gallons to fill to
the top. I'm guessing 14 - 16 gallons ????
Thanks
