For Anyone Very Familiar With The Nokian Tire Lineup, And Differences by
Bob[_53_]
Hello,
Picking a tire can really drive one crazy.
I realize that it is all a compromise, but would appreciate thoughts
on the following, please:
Have had Nokian WR G2 tires in the past, and have never had a better
tire for snow or ice. Wear pretty quickly, though.

Nitrogen for tires. by
JR[_8_]
A guy I know said some 'special tires' run low/flat in this very cold weather. He said when he was in Alaska they would put some Nitrogen, a little bit of Nitrogen, in the tires and that helped to keep the tires from running low.

My wifes 2006 Malibu max is biting me in the ass. The other day in the

the dash. starts and drives OK, but NO power steering. Its been

Tire Question ? by
Bob[_53_]
Hello,
My new 2014 Subaru Outback came with Bridgestone Dueler oem tires.
225/65-17
I want to replace them with a "better" rated tire for snow/ice here in
New England conditions, but several I am looking
at do not have a "65," only "60".
Is this difference meaningful ? Why ?

2004 F-150 5.4 is possessed... by
N8N[_2_]
Friend's dad just bought a used F-150, 2004, 5.4 Triton engine.
When he got it he knew it'd been wrecked and repaired. When he got it he had two keys but only one key fob. Also the keys did not operate the lock cylinder in the driver's door, which I offered to fix for him. I was going to pop...

Carburetor fuel cut solenoid questio (1986 Corolla FWD) by
[email protected]
I managed to mix up the two fuel cut solenoids in the carb,
and unfortunately they fit perfectly either way.
Which solenoid goes near the choke coil spring and throttle cable?
The factory manual contradicts itself here and on some pages shows
the 1-wire solenoid there, but on other pages it shows...

My friends bicycle engine wont kick over? by
joey
My friend just got a mountain bike with an engine for christmas. It ran out of
gas at my house and we didn't know it required mixed fuel so I got all of the
gas out and put mixed gas in it. When he tried to ride it he'd let the clutch
go (starting the engine). The engine started and stayed running...

Toyota carburetor (Aisan) question by
[email protected]
I have a 1986 Corolla FWD 4-door, and the carburetor is missing the
coil spring (Toyota #21865-15230) from the vacuum-operated auxiliary
accelerator pump (AAP), which uses a rubber diaphram instead of a
piston. Nobody stocks this spring, and no dealer remembers any
details about it.
Does this...

DOHC, SOHC, NOHC Performance benefits, or hype? by
phaeton
Seems that you hear a lot of buzz in the auto world about how many
overhead cams something has. I hear a *LOT* of the buying public, the
ones that I would essentially label as 'sheep' (no offense to them,
though), talking about overhead camshafts as a 'performance' feature.
These would be the same...

the slow demise of the car by
[email protected]
A story on the news last night about declining car sales.
In summary, baby boomers still care about cars, they are the ones that
buy based on how it drives: power, handling et cetera.
But generation Y mostly have no passion for cars, unless it it has
GPS/Bluetooth/iPod and other technowank.

Tire pressure Monitoring System - Third Party Add-On ? by
Bob[_53_]
Hello,
Son just bought a new 2015 Subaru Outback.
They have a tire pressure monitoring system of sorts, but really
rudimentary.
If a tire activates, an icon, and I imagine a chime, goes off.
No way to know which tire.

'96 Sentra How To Reset SES (Check Engine) Light? by
Ron
A couple of weeks a ago I replaced the starter on a '96 Sentra. Had to
remove the air filter box and disconnect 2 or 3 plugs connected to it.
After replacing the starter I started the car a couple of times just to
check the starter. The check engine light was not on.
Since then the car has been...
