turned off from the switch, interior lights are off, fog lights off and the
switch light on the rear view mirror is also set to off. ...

'91 Explorer XLT Stalling Out by
Dan J
The past 2 years that I have had my Explorer I have noticed that in the
summer it is stalling out. Well yesterday things got really bad with it,
In order to keep it running I have to leave my foot on the gas and place
it in neutral sometimes.
I checked my vacuum lines and found 1 line that was...

92 Exploder, gas guage kaput, help? by
michael
My gas guage is not werking any more.
Electricity off = just above empty.
Electricity on= right on empty, not below, not above
Negative ground bad?
It was working so-so for a few weeks just before it crapped out. It would
be on empty and than it would rise up and go to the right place.

4x4 Auto front-end binding by
[email protected]
I have a 2002 explorer that about 3 months ago started binding in the
front-end when making sharp (usually slow) turns. Though intermittent,
the problem appeared to only happen in reverse (when backing out of my
driveway). More recently, I've been towing a trailer, and the problem
appears...

Moose Horn Engine Noise?? by
OC
Hey - I've got a '98 Explorer, standard 6-cyl, auto, with about 120k miles.
In the last 2000 or so miles, it has developed a roaring noise when the
engine is hot and car is idling. The noise is very loud when the air intake
is removed from the air filter compartment. My mechanic said there's a...

'98 EB Explorer Antenna Problem by
Jim
When I turn off the ignition, the antenna does not automatically go down as
it is supposed to. The antenna motor runs, but the antenna stays up unless
I get out and tap on the top of it, and then it retracts and the motor
stops. If I don't do anything, the motor stops running after about...

Interesting Finding Regarding Auto Pricing by
D.D. Palmer
I did a little research, and found that the market sets car prices, not the
manufacturers.
That being said, both the new and the used car market prices HON/TOY
products to last about 150,000
miles. Sure, many go much longer and still have some residual worth at
150,000 miles. At 150,000 miles, they...

Noisy Engine? by
Psinapse
I have a 1991 Explorer XLT w/183,000 miles on it. My problem is when I start
her up.She makes a high pitched squeal that is sort of rythmic. I can tell
it is from the belt or the bearings. It stops after the engine is good and
warm. I wonder if I should replace the belt, but upon inspection it...

Ford Radio Blank Display by
Watton
Yeah, I wasn't too good at the do it yourself soldering either. I guess I
should have left it to the pros. I went ahead and did the "Save My
Sanity" swap at www.shareamemory.com/radio and was able to fix my radio
without shipping it off and using only a philips screw driver to remove
three screws...

96 XLT tune-up by
Randy Pavatte
Hi all.
I have a 96 I bought used several years ago, and in this time I've never
had it tuned up. I've never experienced any drivablility issues, so I'm
wondering if it should be done despite this?
I have had the air filter changed a few times, but not the other typical
tune-up stuff.
I'd be...

Front-end Noise by
STEPHEN SAUNDERS
Hello to All,
I have a 1999 Explorer XLT 2WD 4.0 SOHC. Now with about 76K miles I'm
having what appears to be my first problem (other than the killer tire
swap).
I hear a metal on metal clunking noise in the front end while driving. It's
not only when braking and/or turning, but braking and...

Peeling window film. Any solutions? by
Searcher1
IN my experience there is really not much you can do about it. THe original
glue is dried to the glass, That has to be removed first. you may as well
take it to a reputable tint place and get a suggestion from them. Elmers
glue will not work, the freshly glued area will be opaque at best.
