Replacing the air bag module by
Daniel Nguyen
Actually air bag removal is not that difficult if you take precautions. I
just replaced my aging steering wheel that had come loose at the top from
the frame inside with a used leather one and the whole swap took a total of
30 minutes to do. The information in miata.net garage section is...

FS: 2006 True Red MX-5 Miata Sport - East Tennessee USA by
John McGaw
I realize that this isn't meant as a For Sale forum but, given that nobody
seems to post anything at all here I don't see how it can hurt. Financial
realities have convinced me to sell off my lovely little Miata. After being
a Miata owner since 1991 that is going to be difficult but needs...

99 Miata Radiator Cooling Fan Relay? by
Ron
Drivers side cooling fan (radiator fan?) isn't working. Tested the fan
and it's working. So I'm guessing it's the fan relay? Anything else
that could be the problem? If it's the relay where is the damn thing
located? I see what looks like 3 relays located under a cover between
the passenger fender...

2015 Mazda6 Gas Mileage by
rll_sb
I bought a 2015 Mazda6 Touring and am disappointed in the fuel mileage. It
is rated at 26 city and 38 highway. I am getting much less. In town my
average is about 22 mpg and perhaps mid-30s on the highway.
I would be interested in hearing others' mileage numbers.
Thanks,
- Russ in Santa...

Midwinter drive by
Me[_12_]
Went for a midwinter drive today in the old '98 NB 6spd.
Hood down, one of those calm winter days where the sun shines, probably
only 5-10 deg C. Beanie on, heater on, stereo on full. I must have been
going a little bit too slow - my wife didn't complain once...
About 350km round trip, through...

timing belt change needed? by
Scott
My '91 Miata has about 29K real miles on the odometer and has never had
the timing belt changed. Should the belt be changed, or should it still
be good for 60K, despite its age?

Shift boot replacement frequency? by
XS11E[_1_]
I've just ordered replacement shift boots, the little rubber on that
goes on the transmission, the larger one that goes on the floor and the
one that is visible inside. They're all bad, the inner ones are torn
and as for the outer one, the leather has become stiff and inflexible
and has...

Failed MD inspection by
Frank Berger[_2_]
1. Rear window is tinted - that's against MD law. Have to have the tint
removed.
2. Car is too low. I assume (hope) putting pack the 17" wheels will make
it legal.
3. Right tail light is missing. Not burned out, housing is missing. Never
noticed that.
Grrr.

hub centering rings: plastic vs. aluminum? by
Grant Edwards
As I was putting on my 3rd snow tire this morning, it dawned on
me that I needed centering rings for the aftermarket wheels
that my snow tires are on. Some places sell poly carbonate
rings, some places sell aluminum ones. Since they're supposed
to bear most of the weight of the car, I would think...

Timing Belt by
Gary
I have about 78K on a '90 and have never done the timing belt. Shame on me,
but the car runs great. Can I get another 10K and delay doing it or am I
flirting with disaster? If I gamble by waiting a while longer am I going to
ruin the engine if it finally goes on me? Also, has anyone ever gotten...

I was sure Arizona would rank much worse than Californicate!
I'm not surprised that New York has the worst drivers per GMAC

Can rotating the tires extend their life by 20%? by
[email protected]
So I'm looking at BFG G-Force Sports for my next set of tires.
Ordering online + installation charges would be a hair over $400
total, if I did all four tires at the same time.
Or, the local Discount Tire can do it for $467 including free
rotations for the life of the tires.
You see where I'm...

New Miata owner by
Brian Turner
My wife and I just bought a 1999 Miata. We love it so far. I just sold a
1970 VW Karmann Ghia and am switching from the aircooled VW newsgroup to
here, so I am a newbie. My first question is this. When following the car
home after we bought it, we noticed that the speedometer seems to be...

2005 Miata MAZDASPEED by
[email protected]
Hi!
Owners of MAZDASPEEDs,
From your experience, what is your general opinion about the car? When
I test drove the car it seemed to have a sudden surge in power when the
turbo kicked in. It wasn't very smooth. Do all the "mazdaspeeds" do this?
Cheers,
'99 Silver Miata
