2002 SL1 Tires by
Stilgar[bbs.isca.uiowa.edu]
If you read my other post today, you'd see that my 2002 SL1 has 98,000
miles on the original Firestone tires.
But, with 98,000 miles, they're really starting to show their age.
They're to the point where they've started to squeal when I make tight
corners, and it looks like some cracks are...

Saturn Story by
Stilgar[bbs.isca.uiowa.edu]
Let me start of by saying that this is the first time I've read the
Saturn newsgroup, and I'm pretty happy with what I've seen. Compared
to other vehicle groups the Saturn group is low on "my car sucks"
postings. It looks like most of the trouble posts are from owners of
cars that are getting up...

Where is Power Control Module (PCM) on 1993 SR1? by
Gary Compton
Help! I want to do some diagnosis of an intermittently operating cooling
fan, but I can't find the PCM. I'm sure it is obvious - should be on
firewall, driver side - but I can't find it.

1995 SW1 manual transmission shift linkage problem by
AJLCary
My 1995 Saturn SW1 has become increasingly difficult to shift. We thought
it might be the clutch and replaced it. it hasn't solved the problem.
Symptoms: Clutch has to jammed to the floor, and then the shift lever
somewhat forced into gear. Most difficultly is with lower gears.
When looking at...

R134a service ports - thread? by
Philip Nasadowski
Does anyone know what the tread on the A/C service ports (R-134a) is?
I'm looking to stick a bolt to plug a leak in mine, because the %^#$%^$%
service valve is leaking again! >:( I figure a bolt or something in
there will at least slow, if not totally stop the leak..

spark plugs condition by
newsgroup
For some time now I have heard that you can assess your engine combustion
condition by carefully exams your engine spark plugs after a long highway
trip or verify exhaust tail pipe for light tan color. I drove over 1400 km
last week (all highway) and my exhaust tail pipe is totally black. ...

Underhood fuse Panel by
the_brewmaster
I've been having problems with the cooling fan operation and it was
recommended that I clean the relay under the underhood fune panel. I'm
not quite sure how to remove the panel to get under it to access the
connectors. Any help would be appreciated.

Engine gaskets by
1_Patriotic_Gal
I am quite fond of my 1995 Saturn which still runs well -- A minor anoyance
is multiple slow oil leaks. I add 1 quart of oil a month sometimes as often
as once a week. I have a slow front seal leak, rear seal leak between
engine and transmission, slow oil pan gasket leak, slow transaxle leak. ...

oil stuff by
Mephistopheles Jones
Hi all,
I've got a 1993 SL2 manual 144,000 miles. First a quick question: do you
guys pay $5/qt for the Mobil 5W30 synthetic oil? I can't seem to find it
cheaper anywhere else. I'm in Los Angeles, by the way.
Also, are all oil filters the same? Instead of buying the cheapest one at
Autozone,...
