2004 Dodge Ram 1500 starting problem by Hachiroku $B%O%A%m%/(B[_2_]
Guy asked me if I knew anything about this. He has a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500, was starting normally, then one time he got in and turned the key, no warning lights or gauges, nothing happened. He waited a few seconds and then the gauges jumped and the truck started. It is now doing this more often...

Lincoln Mark VIII Power steering noise. Pump or hose? by Susan72
I went to start my car and my steering wheel was stiff and there was a loud noise around my serpentine belt. I replaced my power steering hose, but the attachment was non-standard and I asked a piping shop to help me rig a reasonable fitting. Then I started my car back up and the problem seemed...

Altima 2002 cranks but won't start by jamesgangnc[_2_]
I'm working on my buddy's 2002 Altima. It cranks and acts like it's trying to start but doesn't start. He let triple-a look at it first and they found the valve cover gasket was leaking and one of the coils was a bit oily. That didn't make much sense to me as far as causing it not to start. ...

Due to a malfunction, cylinder 3 was not firing in my auto and dumping raw fuel in the cylinder . The problem was fixed, but now the check engine light is continuously showing that the catalytic converter is defective. Does any one know of an additive that might reverse this problem? Cats are...

Unwanted Complexity by Vic Smith
I'm doing the lower intake gasket on my '97 Lumina. 160k miles, and hasn't failed, but since they are known to fail, I'm not taking any chances since I decided to keep it a couple more years, and do the annual Florida trip again. That's about 3K miles total.. Rocker panels starting to rust...

Toyata Avalon Wiper Blades by MLD
Have a 2008 Avalon and looking at the (OEM) wiper blades I don't see any easy way of replacing just the rubber inserts. Scouted around the web for info and everything seems to point to replacing the whole wiper blade. Am I missing something? Got a link that shows how it's done? MLD

That Damn Nut by Tim Wescott
Any tricks to removing the big nut holding on a front wheel drive wheel? This is a 99 Honda Civic. The nut is the type that has an edge peened into a keyway-looking slot. Is there any way to ease that peened bit out of the slot, or do you just need a great big breaker bar and lots and lots...

I have a 1996 Silverado. Replaced compressor, receiver/dryer, and condensor with autozone replacements. Flushed system. Replaced one of the lines. Seems to cool ok at interstate speed but at idle it does not. It has been in the 90's here but I feel it should cool better than this. I bought a HF...

F-150 brakes by Tom Del Rosso[_3_]
On Top Gear, Jeremy said the F-150 is a POS. One key point was his claim that the brake pads are "the size of bottle caps" and are inadequate for a vehicle of this weight and power. Is that a real issue or one man's opinion? -- Reply in group, but if emailing add one more zero, and remove...

Dashboards - I don't get it by Vic Smith
Since the passenger airbag went off on my kid's '95 Bonneville he's replaced the dashboard and seats. He picked up a clean console dash he liked at the boneyard, and bucket seats. His split bench seats are in my garage. Next week he's going to fit the driver's Pontiac seat into my '97 Lumina,...
