Power Top Fluid by
Mike Atkins
A question for you guys with convertible power tops :
According to my GM shop manual, the recommended fluid for my power top pump
is brake fluid. Now knowing what happens when brake fluid meets paint and
the number of possible areas for leakage, I'm considering changing it for an
alternative...

Cars for a museum by

If you were starting a general car museum and had room to nicely
display 15 cars, which would you pick? Don't get too esoteric - nothing
rarer than a Cord or Auburn.

Jaguar E-type 4.2 but what series? by
[email protected]
Guys,
I recently found a Jaguar e-type that I would like to buy ... but what
series is it?
I do not want to contact the owner before knowing exactly what is it
and being able to make a reasonable offer.
Here are the pictures, not very good but should be enough. My guess is
that it is the 4.2...

Question about Bentleys by
nickra
Been looking at 20 year old or so Bentleys, often selling for as
little as $60K. Is there a newsgroup or club or even magazine/
newsletter that specializes in this area, especially in the U.S.? I'm
looking into the pros and cons of such a purchase.

Hi All,
I'm having a problem applying clear coat to a 65 Mustang that I am
rebuilding and am hoping that someone can help me figure out what is
wrong. I'm using an HLVP Finex gun with a 1.4 mm tip with a pressure of
~40psi at the gun. Based on assistance from a member of this group to
an earlier...

Painting question by
Spy Fox
Greetings,
I am working on the brake system to a 1954 Ford F-100 and am sandblasting
the last 50 years of rust and gunk away. I have the whole brake plate and
assembly off the suspension and laying on my work bench. Anyway, the
question is, once cleaned, is there a good all-purpose, one coat...

Open driveline in Old Buick by
[email protected]
With today's high gas prices I had an idea. I have a relative that has
an old four door straight eight Buick in her garage. I wanted it since
I was a kid but she wouldn't give it up, even though the trans shot
craps in 1965 or so. It was put in the garage and left to sit,
unpickled.
She was...

unusual thing about the car is that all doors, including the front
doors, are suicide doors. A close-up of the rear wheel hub is...

help needed painting auto roof by
wannabeautopainter
I'm in the middle of restoring a 64 1/2 mustang and am at the painting
stage. Using Valspar DBU for the color coats. I've read every book and
Internet posting I can find on auto-painting and have talked at length
to the store supplying the paint so I'm reasonably confident that I
have pressures...

mid 60s Cadillac radios by
Powercat
Antique Cadillac affictionados -- what vintage had radios with
"search" features? You pressed a button and the radio looked for
signals -- the display bar moved on the tuner while it searched. I am
thinking this was 1965 Cadillac.
