1991 MX5 over heating by
[email protected]
My car over heated this morning on my way to work, traffic was at
normal speed and the A/C was off, weather is good so outside temp is
not an issue, what should I be checking before taking to the shop.

Pinging by
[email protected]
Hello all,
My 1991 Miata, just never quit pinging (rattle noise), my mechanic
suggested to fill up with premium gas for a while and add Chevron
Techron, I did that but pinging is still there, with the current gas
price I really want to go back to regular gas, any ideas, suggessions
please.

New Shocks- 1991 Miata by
[email protected]
My 1991 Miata has 113K miles, the ride is not as smooth as use to be,
little bumps sound like something big, I guess it's time for new
Shocks, I read quite a few post about Shocks/Struts but still not sure
which one to buy, do I need something else beside shocks, what is fair
price to get it...

Valve Lifters by
Al
Has anyone changed out valve lifters (lash adjusters) on early 90's
Mazdas? I cooked my engine and have always had one bad lifter that took
a few minutes to fill with oil. I bought 2 lifters just in case. Has
anyone had trouble getting them out? I want to install the new ones but
don't want to...

Miata F.S. by
Alan
I plan on getting a new Miata in the spring so my old '90 has to go. Nice
car well, cared for. Clear coat starting to go, but overall in great
condition for a 15 year old car. See ebay listing 4584939713 for more
details. If you need more pix let me know.

Dragging rear brake. by
Alan Baker
My right rear brake has started to drag and the brake idiot light has
lit up.
Best guesses as to the cause? My Miata is a 1990 which hasn't had any
work done on the brakes in quite some time, so I suspect perhaps the
guide pin(s) are not sliding smoothly, but that's just a guess.

Smoke in the morning... by
Alan Baker
Blue smoke. A large cloud just after I start my 1990.
What do you think is the likely cause? I've got one friend who's
suggested it might be worn valve guides. What am I looking at paying if
it *is* valve guides?
Any other thoughts?
TIA

Clunking sound by
Alan Baker
Lately, as I'm coming to a stop under braking -- particularly if the
wheels are turned -- I hear a little clunk or two.
My Miata is a 1990, and I'm wondering whether some of the suspension
bushings might be breaking down.
Any thoughts?

Good-Win-Racing: I won't ever deal with them again. by
Alan Baker
Why?
This:
I ordered a clutch from Good-Win-Racing on Sunday May 6. At that time I
ordered it, it didn't say a word about being a special build-to-order
product.
Then when I received notification that my shipment had arrived, the
clutch was there.
