smoke/overheating? by
[email protected]
I have an oil leak (I think) and I was driving home w/ac on and felt
tremendous heat at my legs even though the ac was working then noticed
smoke coming from around my tires. Turned off the ac and was almost
home (about five minutes total) and could smell the burned tire smell.
Did I kill my car?

92 Sidekick O/D problem by
FR9940AOD5
My 92 Sidekick will run fine when it is first started, but the "O/D
Off" light is blinking. Once the vehicle gets hot, it slows way down
and won't do more than about 35-40mph. Is this a major tranny problem
or just a stopped up strainer?

Stuck brake disc 2001 crown victoria by
[email protected]
I need to remove my rear rotor, but i am not replacing it so i will
need to reuse this so using the "hit it as hard as you can with a
sledge hammer" may not be the best route. My car is making a scraping
noise coming from the rear passenger wheel, and i need to get the thing
off to take a look and...

I was having problems with my AC so figured it was my freon. Got more
freon and the compressor is working, but only goes on when the fan is
at its lowest speed (1). When it is at 1 the selected A/C light goes
on, but then as soon as you switch it to 2,3, or 4, the light goes out
and the compressor...

Cordless impact wrench & Goodyear impact wrench by
[email protected]
I am considering a cordless impact wrench. Seems like a good idea, but
the good ones like Ingersoll Rand or Milwaukee are very expensive.
I am considering the Goodyear electric impact wrench. Pepboys has it on
sale for 79.99 with rebate. I am concerned that the impact wrench will
self destruct...

Oil Independence Day 2006 by
Linda
High gas prices have created a new group of people - "pump
grumblers."
When pumping our high priced gas, we grumble words of resentment, while
feeling powerless. We need gas, so we pay the price. Standing as a
individual we are powerless, but together our voices would be heard.
America is a...

Hello, I have a 1983 Grand Marquis. Yesterday, it ran out of gas.
After getting gas in it, we still have had problems starting it. I have
changed the fuel filter inside of the carb today. I put some gas inside
of the butterfly on the carb and it almost starts. It will turn over
fine, but just won't...

1984 Plymouth Voyager 2.6L with Mikuni carburetor. by

I got this old van because the body and interior are great, and the
2.6L Mitsubishi engine seems tight and quiet. This van doesn't have a
computer.
Right after I got it, I noticed it stalled after 2.2 kilometers (1.4
miles). That was just enough time for the fellow I got it from to
disappear from...

Bypass heater core + plug circuit, Chevy 283 by
[email protected]
Hi,
I am rebuilding the cooling system on a '57 Chevy sedan with a stock
283 V8. Since I only drive it in the summer, and have already
overspent, I want to just bypass the heater core for now.
I could easily make a little loop of hose from the manifold fitting to
the water pump, and I see with a...
