Emissions issue question by Travis Tarrant
I have a 2005 Chrysler Sebring with a problem with the mass air flow sensor which effects my emissions. Everything else about the car is fine but this part is over half a grand to replace. How will it effect my car in the long run and it will it eventually do damage to my engine to where the car...

Alarm goe off internittantly by MLD
Have a 2000 Honda Accord EX. The security alarm goes off for no apparent reason with the car sitting in the driveway. Turn it off with the remote and within 15 min it will go off again. The alarm is not supposed to be armed if either the hood is unlatched or the trunk is open. This is true...

CVT Transmission Question by Bob[_53_]
Hi, We'll probably be getting our first car with those new CVT transmissions. Just wondering: if you depress the gas pedal fully, do they, essentially, drop down (what would be equal to) a gear like all the non-CVT older transmissions always did ? If you need a quick burst of speed, how is it...

ACCEL FUEL INJECTORS STILL SUCK! by Nomen Nescio
Accel Performanc eGroup is sucking cock and trying to sanitize Google results of its sh*tty reputation. Search Accel performance group in Google and go to page 10-15 and look how they are advertising one job in every hiring forum in an attempt to push down terrible results about them. The idiots...

"Heat Shields" On A 2005 Accord Problem by Bob[_53_]
Hello, Not too automotive sharp, so would be grateful for some advice on this. My son has a 2005 Honda Accord with 175K on it now. Dealership just told him that the "Heat Shield," and the "Rear Heat Shield" are 90 % gone. Guess there are apparently two heat shield in question ?

Cavalier 93 V6 3.1L fuel pump relay location by hassan
Hi everybody, My car stopped working one week ago. The most possible thing I have found is fuel pump stopped. I want to check fuel pump relay before opening the gas tank to access the fuel pump. But couldn't find the relay. I see 5 small boxes under the hood that most likely are relays. Two near...

Maximum Tire pressure (a police perspective) by [email protected]
This is such fun, I just have to post. Who knew tire pressure was such a passionate topic? I drive a police interceptor (Crown Vic) and also have Ford's installer's documents. Although the tires may have either 35 or 44 psi on them, and although the civilian owner's manual and door sticker...

brake master cylinder question by Ivan Vegvary[_2_]
1948 Pontiac Master cylinder extremely difficult to get to. Drilled and tapped fill cap, attached hose running to a reservoir mounted high up on the firewall. Reservoir is a salvaged clutch reservoir. Question: Seems to work OK, but, system is kind of sealed. I assume there is no air within the top...

Van liability Insurance. by JR[_8_]
I only drive my 1983 full size Dodge van once a month. Progressive insurance cost me $195.00 every six months. Can anybody reccomend something better? If I had an enclosed garage I could get insurance for vintage vehicle, I think for a much lower price.

Prestone Rather Than DesCool ? by Bob[_53_]
Hello, Have a 2009 Buick LaCrosse. Manual says to use DexCool for antifreeze. I think it also says, somewhere, "only". I see that the Prestone product(s) all say "for any car". Safe to use Prestone, instead ?

Tire pressure detection by Tom Del Rosso[_3_]
I got a tire pressure warning, and one was down to 22 psi. It has a slow leak, I now know. But after filling it and keeping it filled to 32, the warning never goes away. Does it sense with a real pressure sensor, or by measuring rotation since the ABS does that anyway? -- Reply in group,...

Help! Caliper torque setting by Michael Wilson
I'm putting the caliper back on the anchor plate. From what I can tell, the torque is 47 pounds. I managed to sheer the bolt and now have to go to the hardware store to get another one. Am I misreading the specs? (see pic) Maybe I didn't hear the click from the Autozone loaner torque...

2003 F150 front brakes design by Michael Wilson
I changed brake pads and rotors on the front wheels of my truck. It disconcerting that there's not a lot to them. The rotors are held on by the wheel lugs, not a spindle bolt, and the pads aren't clipped in or anything -- just sort of loose on the slippers and "held in" with an anti-rattle clip....

New pads with new caliper? by Michael Wilson
I'm putting on a new caliper on a 2003 Ford F150. The current brake pads have about 30 percent on them and will need new rotors in the not too distant future. Should I go ahead and put new brake pads in the caliper? Or just put the old ones back in? Thanks.
