Thermostat replacing by
mrkcas
Hi Everyone,
I read a few posts about a sticking thermostat and think I may have
one as well. I am looking for it with no luck but is it possible the
thermostat is on the radiator cap? I've seen pictures and it looks
like the part underneath the cap which sticks in the radiator.
Otherwise, I...

99 ABS light on after driving in slush/salt, 2nd occurence by
Mikepier
After the recent snow here in the NY area, I drove through a lot of
slush/salt on the road. A short time later my ABS light came on. This
is the 2nd time this has happened. Last year under similar conditions,
the light came on also. It went out after a few days. I'm hoping the
same thing will...

I went to a meeting this morning at 10am. My truck started fine,

my meeting an hour later and it won't start. Won't even turn over.
Tried jumping it, no dice. I came home to read about the PATS and it
mentioned if the THEFT...

1999 Ford Explorer Spark Plugs by
[email protected]
I just finished putting the spark plugs into the Explorer.
Unfortunately my buddy has moved the wires to different locations.
Which wire goes to what plug? Lets say we are looking directly at the
engine from the front bumper.

I have a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac that's running hot. The needle
on the temp gage runs to the top in a manner of minutes while
driving. I just had the coolant changed, but it didnt help. Any
ideas on what's wrong? Is it the water pump, or the sensor, or maybe
the transmission? Should I go...

Brake Lights by
Jacob
My 1995 XLT Explorer's brake lights don't work. The upper brake light above
the rear window does work. I checked the owner's manual, and looked for the
fuse, and checked it, and it looks ok to me. Any suggestions about why this
could be? If one brake light is out would the other be out too? ...

2001 Explorer Sport 4.0L V6 by
[email protected]
I just bought my first SUV, a 2001 Explorer Sport 4.0L V6, with
103,000 on the clock. At first I was, and honestly still am, a little
trepedatious about buying a car with that kind of mileage.
Don't get me wrong, I have had it for two weeks now and I could not be
happier with its performance. It...

Last week I had the brakes replaced in my 2001 Explorer Sport...new

back. The first time I got on the interstate (60+ mph), I noticed a
vibration and a low-frequency noise coming from the front end. The
vibration and the noise...

Windsshield wipers will not work by
Alex
I have a 96 Expoler. After an ice storm I tried turning on my wipers
(after the ice was cleared) and they did not work. They made one pass
and now are in the operated position in the middle of the windshield.
When I turn them on I hear a "click" under the hood. I see that there
is a motor mounted...

look inside the box: no obvious failed solder joints, cracked capacitors or
signs of moisture. With neither documentation nor parts available, it...

removing door lock cylinder from 98 by
sehaare
I'm trying to remove the driver's side door latch from my 98. I
searched and found the instructions posted in another thread. One of
the first steps is to remove the door lock cylinder. I've never done
this on a ford. Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
