Windshield Replacement by
Greg Berchin
The New England winter cracked the windshield on my 2000 Explorer 2dr
Sport. This never happened on my 1991 Explorer -- its windshield seemed
to be a lot thicker. So I wonder, when I replace the glass on the 2000,
will the thicker glass from an earlier model fit?
Thanks,
Greg

Windshield film by
HerkyJerky
On a 2002. I've got some kind of substance (car wash wax maybe?) on
the exterior windshield that makes night driving in the rain a
significant safety issue. New wipers haven't fixed it. I've tried
several auto-type glass cleaners with no success. Recommendations?
Solvents, ultra-fine steel wool,...

windows stopped working by
Nate
I have a 1998 Ford Explorer EB Edition. All of a sudden all of my power windows and sun roof stopped working. All the fuses look good, so I'm not sure what else it could be. Possibly a relay somewhere? Thanks.

window regulator cable - '92 explorer by
dot
The left rear window suddenly slipped to the bottom today. I pulled the
door panel and found the regulator cable is no longer attached to
anything on what I suspect is the window end. Can anyone point me to a
picture or describe how/where this is supposed to be attached. I'm
reluctant to pull apart...

Window motor going bad? by
JENNIFER SMITH
I've been having issues with the driver's side window on my 1993 Explorer
Sport. This past winter, the window developed a mind of its own, and would
go down without me touching the switch at all. I eventually figured out to
stop it going down by pressing up on the switch, which stopped it from...

Window Locks, 4wd light flashing by
sp[_1_]
I am getting the same behaviour as was mentioned in the following post,
I purchased the relay, but where do I replace this relay.
I have a 1996, 2-door, Exploer sport. What is the relay part number
and where is this located? I could not locate this in the rear of the
vehicle -- where the lug nut...

Window fails to open - sometimes by
R. F. Duffer
2004 Explorer:
The rear driver's side window does not open with either the driver's
push-button or the rear door's push-button. This problem started last
summer. However, during the winter (Chicago suburb), the window would
once again open/close. I had no problems with the window until...

will not idle when first started, motor dies. 1998 Sport SOHC 4 by
Cosmo
The motor starts but dies if you do not hold the gas petal down. This
has happened twice in about 5 weeks. I can get the car to start and
run normal if I start the car and hold down the petal so the engine is
running 1500 to 2000 RPM. After a moment of running the engine above
idle the engine will...

Will an '02 explorer bumper cover fit a '00 explorer sport? by
[email protected]
I bought a used 2000 ford explorer sport about 5 months ago. This
explorer sport is great. the 4.0L SOHC engine makes it VERY agile
. i've made minor modifications on the intake and put a
flowmaster exhaust system on it and it sounds surpisingly good for a
V6. its in great condition and only had...

Wierd electrical on 2000 by

Good newsgroup. I read here often, especially since we have 2
Explorers, and found answers in the archives plenty of times. But
finally found something I need to discuss. If anybody can help, I'd
certainly appreciate it.
A couple of weeks ago, the wife's reliable 2000 XLS with 78K miles had

Why Online Games are So Fun by
[email protected]
After working hard for my money, the least I could do is to have some
online fun. That's what motivates me to keep making money.
I mean supporting welfare parasites and fraudulent government's SSN
program is not exactly motivational. I'd rather deal with more
trustworthy and attractive...

Why no 2006 Sport Trac? by
Jeff[_17_]
We`re trying to make a decision on a new /newer vehicle. The question that
keeps popping up is why there was no 2006 Sport Tracs? One of our options is
a 2005 Sport Trac vrs a 2007 Ridgeline saving us over $10,000. Was there a
problem with the 05`s? Any opinions?
Thanks

Whirring gears on freeway by
Abbye
Hello,
I have 97 Ford Explorer with 104K miles on it. When slowing on the freeway,
I sometimes hear the gears whir and get no response then when attempting to
accelerate. I can put it into neutral and then pump the gas pedal and then
put it back into drive and it reengages. Tonight I drove...

whining noise coming from rear by
Mike
Howdy,
I took my 1995 Explorer into the Ford dealer last week to have the front /
rear brake pads replaced / rotors turned.
They also replaced the idler pulley (see previous post, it was making a
whaling noise).
So, now that my pulley isn't making noise, I can now hear a new whining
noise (I...
