2001 L200 by
Newsguy
Hello again;
The ignition key 'sticks' when you try to take it out of the ignition. It
feels like something clamps the key in tight. Eventually you can remove it.
But, it is getting to the point where the key has to be left in the ignition
when you get out of the car. The key or ignition...

"Secret" 2001 Saturn Alignment Defect by
Mr. Goodwrench
If you bring your car in, Saturn policy is that they will not inform you of
this TSB unless you specifically ask for it by name, otherwise you will get
an alignment and your car will continue to cup and chew up the rear tires,
possibly causing a blowout, and loss of control of the vehicle.
This...

Missfiring SL1 (97) by
David De Vuono
If nothing else they sure have character. I have been struggling with
a miss fire for several weeks now. I had some luck when I replaced
the plug wires and used the "recommended" plugs but that only lasted 3
months (last winter). Now I put the bosch platinum plugs back in.
Interesting, when I...

Oil change by
John Sloan
I've had my new Vue 2 weeks and have skimmed thru the manual a couple times.
I did not see a recommended oil change interval. All I found was a
recommendation to change oil within 600 miles after the oil change lite
comes on. Is this the accepted interval or does everybody go by the 3000
mile...

Insurance Claim? by
[email protected]
Anyone know how long it might take to settle an Insurance claim when it
is not your Insurance Company? If the claim in under $1000 do you think
they would settle it sooner, rather then later? Thanks!

92 SL2 DOHC failed smog test - 15mph NOx by
Bill Mudd
92 SL2 - DOHC
The only part of the California smog test it
failed was the 15mph NOx.
My reading was 901ppm with 835ppm max allowed.
The 25mph NOx was half the max allowed.
The HC was 80ppm with 130ppm max and
the CO was .06% with .80% max allowed.

LW roof rack by
Oppie
Now that we are into Summer, I'm beginning to think about vacation plans and
using the roof rack on the '01 LW300. A couple of deficiencies come to mind
vs. the old minivan -
There are no strips on the roof (rubber or otherwise) to protect the paint.
The roof rack rails do not have any eyes front...

Just Bought 2004 V6 AWD Vue by
Joe
I'm one of the few people left in this country that actually wanted a
station wagon! I commute ~ 18 mi round-trip and occasionally need a vehicle
that can carry things and is fuel efficient. I drove trucks during my early
years and owned a Bronco II and Nissan pick-up. I was done with...

missing my Saturn by
Justin
My previous car was a '98 SL1 4 door, 5 speed, gold. Now I drive a '99
Chevy Venture minivan. I should have bought a Saturn SL1 or SL2 wagon.
Japanese cars like the Civic or Corolla might have better fit/finish but
are a lot more boring than the Saturn. Saturns have character.
When the Venture...

teem
Well,I've had mine for just over a year now, overall,I'm happy with it,it's miles of improvement over my former Ford Contour-I kept that for 7 years, but, that's no reason for something to go bad on it every 3-4 months towards the end of ownership.I'm hoping this Ion will last a good 5 years,I'll see...

Transmission Service by
Wild Bill
It is well past the time for my son's Saturn transmission to be serviced.
My Nissan guy used a process that exchanges/replaces over 90% of the fluid,
but the down side is that pan doesn't come off and the filter doesn't get
changed. It is my understanding that conventional transmission...

Tire recommendation L300 by
Victor DiMichina
I just replaced the aging Firestone Firehawk GTA02 (215/55/16) on my
2002 L300 with a set of Dunlop SP Sport A2 tires, same size. I noticed
an improvement in every measurable sense. I highly recommend these tires.

2004 VUE V6 AWD - looking for oil change help by
jjp
I have a 2004 VUE, v6, AWD. I'd like to do my own
oil change, as I have done for all of my other vehicles,
but I haven't yet been able to find the oil filter!
I'll admit that I haven't looked real hard, but I did
spend a few minutes looking from the top, and also crawled
underneath (without...

Slick 50? by
Barry Schnoor
158,000 miles on my '94 SL2...
Any thoughts on using an oil additive, or one of those "high mileage" oils
to help prevent oil burnoff? How about slick 50 or DuPont's Greased
Lightning?
I'm using twice as much oil as I was when this car was brand new...2 quarts
between oil changes instead of just...

Gear Box Oil Change by
Glomis
Hi:
Does anyone know the details of changing the gear box oil in a 2001 SL2? Is
there a drain plug or do you need a pump? What goes in? I have heard -
just regular automatic trans fluid. Opinions? Also how do you fill -
through the drain site?
I'm at 110,000 Km, and the service manual calls...

Saturn headliner installation by
Doggus
Our '97 Saturn's headliner needs replacing. I'm wondering if this is
something the average handy man can do or if this is something that needs to
be done by the shop so they can pay for screwing it up. My concern is I'm
thinking it's a little tricky to get a new one in there without bending...

Powe Window Problem by
Skid
Hello,
I'm having a problem with the driver's power window in my 95SL2. When out
yesterday, and went to close the window, and it did not move. Shut the
engine off, and switched to accessory, and it still did not move, but the
other windows still worked. Looked for a fuse, but did not find any....
