cj8 lift? by
[email protected]
After posting some messages and soliciting advice to try and learn
about the pros/cons, about what to do to fix/or replace the aged
springs on my 82 cj8 I decided to try a mild lift kit.
Mild nothing wild -- just 2 1/2".
With luck it will arrive this week and I can go after the job...

Caster problem Durango 99 by
Peter
Due to collision damage right front lower ball joint has been pushed back
about 3cm (1 inch), torsion bar is also warped a little bit. As a result my
RF caster is now negative (LF is ok). It looks like LBJ is mounted solid to
the frame and cannot be pushed back without some heavy machinery -...

1998 Tahoe 6.5TD Heater Hose Quick-Connect Leak by
Franko
Just finished replacing/repairing the leaking quick-connect (from thermostat bell housing to heater hose/tube). As expected, the bast*rd snapped off quite easily leaving about 1/2" sticking out of the bell housing. Tried a vise grip on what remained and snapped that off, too, leaving about 1/8"...

4X4 Comparison Site? by
Ulysses
Anyone know of a site where I can get unbiased comparisons of the offroad
capabilities of stock Frontiers and Tacomas and Explorers and such?
I need something that can go up a dirt road with 2-3 feet of mud without
getting stuck.
Thanks.

My V-10 kicks enviromentalist butt! by

The "enviros" are not trying to rob you of your "power rights" they are
trying to save the planet,You know the place you live and the place your
kids live. Far more advanced means of making the power you are talking
about is available. But the auto makers are in bed with the oil companies
so they...

Anybody here a Suzuki Samurai fan? by
AT Commander
I've got an '87 Samurai with humble mods (tires, catback, headers,
cage). It hasn't been driven much in the last 5 years, but now it's
my daily driver in addition to fun adventure vehicle on the weekend.
I've got an idle problem. Either it's racing at 3,000 or stumbling
along at less than 1,000...

Help! Does this vehicle exist? by
pshermanfl
Due to specific cargo needs, I am looking for a new (not used) SUV-type
vehicle no smaller than a pre-2007 Honda CR-V, on which the back window
opens independently of the door (not a huge problem to find) and on which
the remainder of the back door opens (as on pre-2007 Honda CR-Vs) to the
side,...

Towing w/ 2005 4Runner by
robert
Hi,
I am thinking about buying a 4x4 2005 4Runner with the 270hp V-8
engine. The specifications for this model say that I can tow upto
7000lbs with it. I am new to towing and I want to know how well this
4Runner will tow a 6000lb trailer?
Any thoughts or experiences?
Thanks,

Mini-Van Conversions? by
Tyler Durden
I was surfing on the GTRV yahoo group and saw a Dodge Caravan converted
into a full camper with a pop-top. I'm not a mini-van guy, but the
Toyota Sienna is a solid, fuel-efficient, AWD vehicle that I think
could potentially offer enough room for a beautiful camper conversion.
My questions: Does...

4x4 Camper Van by
Tyler Durden
I get out of the Army in a year and my wife and I plan to do nothing
more than travel around the country visiting friends and blowing some
savings. I've been kinda caged up in a uniform for 8 years, and it's
time to decompress and get a little perspective. I envision the camper
we travel in as...

off road tires on 4x2 by
[email protected]
I have a Nissan 4x2 and I'd like to do some offroading with it. I have
winter tires right now, and I need to buy some tires for the rest of
the year. I have another set of rims, but no tires.
Is it wise to buy A/T tires for the rear, and other tires for the
front? I have been considering...

Spray on Bedliner Recommendation by

Buying a new pickup truck shortly and I'm strongly leaning on a spray on

a product call "Pro-Tex" by SEM. Any thoughts on it versus Rhino Linings?
Anything else I should bear in mind when considering a spray-on...
