1998 Driving Lights by
Steve
Does anybody know of a source of replacement driving lights for the '98?
I've looked at http://catalog.com/susq/hella/us-oe.htm and these are the
lights I need - but the people there do not want to ship overseas unless I
purchase using a Bank Draft - which costs me more and doesn't give me...

Code 402 by
Davenandee
I have a 1999 Explorer with 108000 miles. Last week it started pinging
with a very low load. The fuel was low so I filled the tank, got on the
freeway and headed home. As I exited the freeway I noticed the Check
Engine light on. After some reading, I tried to clean the MAF sensor
with liquid freon....

strange bumping ... tires? other? by
bobsterway
After putting 2 new tires put on my 2004 Explorer I started intermittently
experiencing a bumping (or thumping, or slipping) feeling that seems to be
coming not from the tires but the transmission or around the differential
(however, I do not know enough about cars to accurately pinpoint it)....

temp guage (gage) dead by
cK
Temp guage was acting funny. For awhilw it would read normal at running
temp then it would read "zero" or stone cold. Periodically back to normal
then fluctuating back to resting position. Now it's seems totally dead.
Replaced sending unit, no change. Once in a blue moon it will read...

diagnosing clutch issues by
[email protected]
OK, I seem to have some issues getting into 1st gear on a 1996 manual
4WD sport. Also you have to delay some to move to other gears. Pedal
seems 'springy', or close to normal - hard to say.
When I switch the engine off, it slides into 1st effortlessly.
The clutch fluid level is correct.
I had a...

Wrong Lubricant In Transmission by
Big Shoe
I got a letter from Ford today saying that the transmission in my '05
Limited had been "filled with a fluid formulation that, over time, may
cause delayed/harsh reverse engagements". Ford offers to have the
dealer install a bottle of additive to correct the formulation of the
transmission...

Dim Message Center. 02 by
Dave Hollis & Penny Williams
The message center in my 02 Eddie Bauer is dim. I can't see it on sunny
days. It is readable on cloudy days and nights. It is much dimmer than the
radio readout, for example.
Has anybody had this problem and fixed it or had it fixed? Are all 02s like
that? I don't think it was like that when...

94 A4LD Thanks to ALL by
rj
You people saved me $2000! Because of the help I received here, I did not
let my shop (ex-shop) replcae the A4LD tranny in my 94 Explorer. I replaced
the $37 vacuum modulator instead. Been driving it for a couple of weeks now
and it is DEFINATELY fixed!
I took the advice of someone and pulled the...

99 explorer sport- 1/2 second stall in snow by
gymper
Hi all,
I've been noticing (strangely) when it's either snowing or whether
leading up to snow, the engine will stall for like 1/2 a second and
then return to normal. It does this intermittently. This caused a
check engine code of p1500 for vss (variable speed sensor). Before
this I had codes...

towing capacity by
mrdenial
Hello everyone.
I'm looking for a work truck to pull around a trailer that could weight
up to 6k. I also want to be able to pull around a trailer that has a
bobcat on it.
I was looking at an 86 ford f-250. From what I'm seeing, the towing
capacity was around 9,000lbs. This is under half of...
