Turns Over but Won't Start by
Christopher Muto
Hi all,
Drove my *automatic* '95 for an hour to a store, parked it, went shopping
for an hour, came out, and the Miata would not start.
It happily cranks but does not start. Noticed that the 'hold' light on the
dash blinks continuously (this is an automatic) and believe that it is
trying to...

FS: OEM Mazda Parts Catalogs by
Bigjfig
OEM parts books available for many makes and models. They are the same
information the dealer parts counter uses to look up parts for your vehicle.
Depending on the model and year, they are on microfiche or CD-ROM. I ship
worldwide (I charge actual shipping cost as computed by the US Postal...

Pre-ignition or pinking? 2007 MX5 coupe. by
The Invisible Man
Hi
Our 2007 MX-5 Coupé 2.0 (not sport) makes some knocking? noise when
accelerating gently at fairly low revs. Not a lot of torque starting off
on steep hills in Cornwall the last few days.
Garage can find nothing wrong. Never had any similar problems with our
2005 1.8 but exhaust is quite...

Alloy wheels for winter: "Sport Edition"? by
Grant Edwards
It's time to buy wheels and winter tires. The current plan is
a set of 195/55-15 Michelin PA2's on 6 or 6.5" wheels. I'm
thinking about splurging on some alloy wheels this time around,
but the selection in 6-6.5 is limited.
One of the low-end brands TireRack carries is "Sport Edition".
I've...

Convertible Top Cover (Boot) by
Jazz_Azz
How many of you actually use that, when making just a short road trip,
say no more than 2 hrs. say to the coast, as we often do, beach
bumming here in N. Calif????
I have used it for a longer (4 1/2 hr.) or our LONG trip to the Grand
Canyon the month after buying our 2000 Miata in June 2000. But I...

Zippering a 2004 top by
blinding
When I'm running in the desert all day long across country, I often
like to run with the top up and the back window down. You can't run
topless all day or you turn crispy and I'm not usually a big fan of
AC.
How hard is it to add a zipper to a 2004 non-zipper top?

Tming belt replacement on 99 626 4cyl by
Jason
Sorry if this is out of place, I could not find another Mazda group.
I need to change the timing belt on my 99 626 4 cyl (80,000 miles).
I am pretty decent at working on cars, I can do brake work (disks and
drums) I always change my own oil, I have attempted a timing belt
replacement on an 84...

removing 2002 console by
frank
Spring popped off the rear cup holder lid and I tried to lift the console
to see if I could reattach it by removing the front two screws and the two
in the storage tray. The console then pops free in front by the 6-speed
shift and is free in the rear but feels stuck in the middle by the...

Miata air scoop by
altar nospam
I just installed the scoop that directs air down to the feet when it's
hot. That's bothered me ever since we bought the Miata. 95 degrees
outside and my feet are cooking down there. It apparantly works like
it says it's supposed to. I'm tickled with it. I have no affiliation
whatsoever with the...

Water on positive battery terminal? by
Leon van Dommelen
Today I cleaned Bozo's trunk. First time I did it, and yes, it was
needed. I always assumed the trunk would stay clean enough, since it
is normally closed. So far for that idea. I guess all that black dirt
and grime should have given me an idea, but I really only discovered
the problem from...

Towing a Trailer With a 2006? by
John McGaw
I know that trailer hitches have been sold for Miatas from the very
beginning but have any of you had actual experience with towing with
your Miata?
I've just about ready to buy a 2006 (tomorrow in fact if everything goes
well!) and I've been toying with the idea of putting on a hitch and
buying a...

magnets on fuel line by
barry
i recently added a magnetic system to my 1990 (approaching 199K this
week) in an attempt to improve mileage. (the basic premise is that if
you magnetize the fuel positively and the air negatively (or vice
versa), they'll remain combined after compression in the chamber
resulting in a more efficient...

Car starts running badly... by
XS11E[_1_]
.... starting a day ago. I was also getting the dreaded driveshaft
squeak so I called Mike's Place <http://www.mikes-place.biz/> and made
an appointment for this AM.
They replaced the drive shaft for $100, they'd replaced it four years
earlier with a used one and it was long out of warranty...
