Outside Handle Replacement by
Xx
I have the new outside door handle for my 97 Explorer to replace the current
one with both tension springs broke. Question is what should I use to
reattach the new handle? I can't find any pop rivets as large as the ones
that I will have to remove to install the new handle. I guess I could...

Car doesn't heat up by
Sean Kirby
I have a 98 Ford Explorer XLT, 5.0L AWD. Sometimes, but not always, the car
just doesn't heat up. When it doesn't heat up I obviously have no heat.
The temperature gauge doesn't show the car heating up at all. But sometimes
it does heat up, however when this happens I have too much heat coming...

I need to disconnect?
Thanks

Oil Presure Sender - conversion to linear from switch by
Steven L. Finberg
I'm having problems with an intermittent oil pressure indication
on a 99 Explorer Sport with a 4.0L SOHC, at cold start up.
Rather than just replace the pressure switch sensor it seems attractive
to make the gauge in the dash a real linear indicator as suggested in
theses earlier...

I was driving down the road and all of a sudden my 1991 Ford Explorer
just died on me and wouldnt start back. At first they thought it was
the fuel pump but it was working fine. Then they thought it might
have something to do with the plugs, which i changed them. They were
burned out but new...

Steering Wheel Cruise Control Light by
Rob
I have a bad connection in the light of the cruise control speed
switch (right side) on the steering wheel. The light goes out
intermittently. Is the bulb soldered in place or can it jiggle loose?
Anyone have any advice on where the problem most commonly appears?
Thanks
Rob

'95 Explorer Sport Accessories Question... by
Searcher1
You can try Advance Auto / Pep Boys You can also try Ebay, they have quite a
few listings for headlights and tail lights of the clear variety fior
Explorers.
If you want you can get the milky haze out of your existing lights by
sanding them
WAIT STOP you need special sandpaper up to 12000 grit and...

97 EB w/air suspension leaning by
Chester
My 97 EB has the air ride / auto-ride-height suspension. When I first bought
the truck 6 months ago, the system didn't work right, and I determined that
the left rear shock was leaking. I replaced it, and things seemed to work
fine. (The truck at least went up when I put it in 4low).
However, when...

2002 sportrac oxygen sensor locations?? by

Try looking behind the cat (12inches) and between the pipe and the body. It
is there but it is tough to see. You might try looking from back to front.

Recommended maintenance? by
[email protected]
Hi Guys, I own a '98 XLT, that I have had since 6/2000. I had a 6
yr/100,000 warranty which ran out a little over a year ago. (I have
~125k now). Since then the only maintenance I have been doing is
checking fluids and changing oil and filter twice a year (It's OK
because I use Amzoil synthetic,...

Leather seats with cloth sides? by
Joe
This is a quite random question...
Is there a reason behind Ford not fully wrapping their seats in
leather/vinyl? I have always owned Ford/Lincoln/Merc products and most
have cloth on one side of the seat. Just curious, likely a cost cutting
thing... but I would think they could just as...

Squeaking Leaf Springs by

The leaf springs "squeaking" on my 95 EB is sounding worse by the day.
Looking through the NG I see some recommendations for spraying the leaf

purpose? Also see a recommendation to replace the leaf springs "pads".
What exactly are...

98 explorer 4.0 SOHC key programming by
Beeper
I was hoping someone could set me straight on this. I bought my vehicle used
and only received 1 key with it. I'm told you have to have 2 "masters"
before you can program others. I've also heard that some 98s only need 1
master. Not sure how reliable that info is. Does anyone know what the...
