aarias
I noticed today during a routine check on my serpentine belt that the
tensioner cover was coming loose, this may be the cause of some "squeeling
noise" coming from under the hood. any feedback on how to repair this and
what the cost is. It is only loose on one corner and I have tried to
"push",...

I've got an '02 Eddie Bauer that's developed a serious problem with the
upper glass portion of the lift gate. This is the one that now has a recall
due to hinge failure. Mine has gotten harder to latch recently and even
opened itself a couple of times before we were made aware of the hinge
issue....

fluid/filter change done around 90k at dealer. Recommendations for service
to correct this? Not looking for tranny replacement/big bucks repair, but
would like to keep it in the family for a few more years. TIA!

side view mirror defrosters by
syclone
I have a 2003 XLT. It did not come with side view mirror defrosters.
Ford made it sort of difficult to actually get them. My question is:
Does anybody know if the wiring harness(s) is set up for them, and all
that has to be done is replace the side mirrors, or is it no-doable at
this late...

03 Explorer Limited Front seat moves by
p166mmx73
I have the same annoying problem. In my case, this is happening on a used
02 Explorer EB with 50,000 miles I recently purchased. I'm still doing
some research and it appears I may have a loose seat back also which moves
during sudden starts and stops. This makes it difficult to focus on the
seat...

DIY'er
I've got a '97 XLT V6 w/ 87k. I noticed a problem this fall; after
letting the truck sit for a couple of months the power steering got
intermittent - it gets easy and hard as you turn the wheel. After
driving it a mile or so, the steering felt better, but still acted up a
couple times breifly. I...

Clutch noise by
lovs2fly
Recently I have been having a real hard time changing gears in my 93 xlt 5
speed. As the problem has gotten worse (very difficult to change gears -
double clutching helps a little) I have begun to hear a whining noise when
the clutch is engaged.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Dennis

What is the size of torx bit for caliper bolts? 96 XLT by
Jon Miller
I am planning on changing the stock brakes on my '96 XLT AWD V8. Still
stock brakes at 86K miles.
I notice the caliper bolts have a torx head on them.
Since I need to buy a set of these I want to make sure I get the right
size torx bits.
Thanks!
