Miata and Lojack by
Bill[_5_]
Do you have a Lojack system installed, and does it drain your
battery in a short period (days in winter, week or so in summer?) Is
there a quick way to disonnect the Lojack? (I'd have to have a
mechanic do it, I can't get on my knees, and left hand is headed south
rapidly.)

Changing to larger brake rotors on Miata by
bayman2222
I have a 90 Miata which now has 17" wheels, The stock wheels are 14"
on the 90 models. I would like to give my Miata more stopping power.
Does anyone know or have a link to refer to which would give me the
information needed to change to a larger brake rotor. I would assume
rotors from a RX7...

alt.autos.mazda by
Body Roll
Would a news admin be interested to create alt.autos.mazda
so that owners of Mazda 6s and 3s won't keep spamming
rec.autos.makers.mazda.miata ?
There is already quite a few groups under alt.autos.* and hardly any
rec.autos.makers.*
I don't have a direct access to any news servers anymore.
Thanks...

alt.autos.mazda by
Body Roll
Guys, would you mind if I file an RFD to create alt.autos.mazda
so that the folks like myself don't spam your newsgroup with general
mazda questions?
Do you think it's be better to file for
rec.autos.makers.mazda
?
If I file RFD I'd need you to vote.
Thank you.

aircraft type replacement sun visor for 91 Mazda Miata? by
Marc CYBW
I just bought a very nice 1991 Miata and am very pleased with it with once
exception. The sun visor.
Does anyone know if a tinted plastic visor similar to those found in Cessna
172S aircraft are available? I spent 30 minutes in various on-line catalogs
and found nothing.
Thanks,
Marc

2006 Model wheel weight by
pws[_1_]
Does anyone know what the 2006 model 17" wheels weigh? I am guessing
that Mazda kept it at about 18 pounds.
I am so used to being able to use any miata wheel on any year model
miata, (assuming there is brake clearance), that the new 5-lug pattern
never occured to me.
No more cheap and easy OEM...

Fuel pump question by
pws[_1_]
I have a fuel pump from a 1996. I have been trying to find part numbers
to figure out what years it is compatible with and one of the places
that sells them indicates that the same pump fits all 1990 - 2005
models, which doesn't sound right to me.
Trussville and Mazda South don't list them at...

95 with code 17 by
[email protected]
Looking for help in troubleshooting my 95 Miata. The check engine lt
came on, when I diagnosed it the code was 17, the oxygen sensor (output
not changing). Anyone with any ideas? I'm planning on checking the o2
sensor, but beyond that what else should I look for.
thanks,
Arne

Ticking sound by
Sin City Boy
I have a 1994 Miata and there seems to be a ticking sound coming from
the right front (passenger) side of the engine when I give it gas. I
thought it may be a lifter, but I also think it might be detonation due
to a low octane gas. Or maybe I need a new fuel pump. Any thoughts?
Thanks;
KJ

Squeal noise from clutch release bearing by
Eric Baber
For a few weeks now my car has been portraying the signs of
http://www.miata.net/garage/tsb/s003_95.html - a light squealing when the
clutch is out which disappears when I press the clutch. According to the
service bulletin this appears to nothing to worry about really; what would

Soft top cleaning by

I have a 99 Jeep Wrangler with a soft top. I have found that Simple
Green and a soft nylon brush works best at cleaning it just spray,
scrub, and rinse. After it dries I use bestop protectant. Before I
did this I thought I had a black roof. Turned out it was grey.
Nothing else touched it like...

2000 running rough/engine check light by

I just tried to start my car and it's running rough and the engine

wires (they were still the originals) and plugs and that fixed it. Now
the same exact thing...
