Airconditioner Stop Leak kit?? by Jacob
I have a 1995 XLT and apparently, from what I've read on my prior posting here, there might be a leak in the AC coolant. I've read that you can buy a stop leak kit that might seal up the AC. Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions on this? Could it damage the AC system? Is it safe to use...

alarm chirping by c11r28

Alternate source for lock actuators ? by [email protected]
Hi all, I'm finding the need to replace a couple of lock actuators on my 2000 Mountaineer. Purchasing form the dealer is quite expensive, I was wondering if anyone has come across a less expensive source for these items. Any recommendations will be welcome. Thanks in advance. JML

Alternator Brushes 97 5.0L ??? by Gerald Riggs
Went to replace the brushes in my 120k miles alternator and none seem to available. Local Schucks Auto Parts says "Standard # FX72" is the correct parts, but were backordered. www.Rockauto.com says the same thing. Anyone else know where to buy such parts? Jerry in Kingston, WA

Alternator failures--causes? by Mark G.
Good evening. I have a 1998 Ford Explorer V6 with 172k miles. The original alternator failed in November, and I replaced it with a "premium" rebuilt alternator from NAPA. (The "premium" designation means that they install a new rectifier instead of a "good used" recitifier. I considered this an...

alternator problem? by *selah*
We have a 94 ford explorer. The ammeter says it's charging when we drive on the highway. But when we drive in stop and go traffic the needle goes down. Eventually the battery goes dead if we keep driving in the city. Would appreciate any help with this. THanks.

An Electric Car Conversion Kit Will Not Affect Your Cars Speed OrPick-Up by e2yh0fe3
We are in these present times facing twin threats that are changes in the environment and also possible shortages of fuels that we use to drive our automobiles, and with the cost of fuel also increasing, there is need to find alternative means to transport us from one point to another. Now-a-days,...

Ancient thread or am I dreaming? by Happy Traveler
It's time to replace the spark plugs on my '98 5.0L Expy. Right next to #5 I notice this empty hole - an exhaust manifold bolt somehow worked itself loose and disappeared. Not a big deal... But a 10mmx1.5 wouldn't fit, and 8mm is way too small. Totally baffled, I try a 3/8"x16 standard -- and...

Another "Phantom" shows up by John Ahnen
You may recall that we got a '96 XLT for our daughter about a month ago. It has about 190K miles, but is in great shape and was well maintained by the original owner. Last week, we drove it for about 20 minutes - no problem, ran great. After it had been parked and shut off for about an hour, I...
