Max tire size on my '02? by
knagy389us
Hi folks,
Can anyone tell me the largest tire I can use on my '02 XLS 4wd with the
factory 16"rims? I saw an XLT with 245's, so I guess they will work. I
don't want to go too big, but the current Michelins, 235's I think, look
lost in the wheel wells.
Thanks
Ken

I was looking at the interior of the Mazda truck and it looked amazingly
like the interior of my 1996 explorer. Why the big similarity?

Mercon ATF same as Dexron III? by
Mikepier
I was looking to change the fluid in my transfer case soon on my 99 XLT
SOHC. The owners manual says use Mercon ATF. The local auto store here
only sells Citgo Transguard ATF Dexron III/ Mercon. I am assuming they
are the same?

Mercury Mountaineer questions by
Jimbo
Howdy,
My sister would like to buy a Mountaineer, but wanted to know if there
were any pitfalls. She is looking at a 2002 or newer. I had heard that
there were 'transmission issues' but haven't been able to get anything
more clear than that. Her decision is between that and a trailblazer.
Any...

Message Center brightness - 2003 Explorer by
I recently purchased a 2003 Eddie Bauer Explorer. The Message Center
display is so dim that it is hard to read in daylight. Is there some way to
adjust the brightness of the display. The display on the radio and climate
control system is much brighter.
Thanks,
Rick...

Metric fasteners by
Bob[_2_]
Are all fasteners metric on the 1994 Explorer? I lost a screw that
holds the door handle on and can't find a replacement in my SAE screw
assortment. When did Ford go metric? Be easy on me Jim.

Michelin Tires by
Gummy Mummy
The time has come to replace the tires on my 03 Eddie Bauer.
I was looking at Michelin tires and saw the LTX which everyone always has
nice things to say about and the Cross Terrain as well. The Cross Terrain
were about $20 a tire more and the attendant said they have a smoother ride.
What is the...

Michelin Tires, Cross Terrain or LTX? by
Big Shoe
In the past, I have had several sets of LTX M/S tires on my Explorers
and agree with everyone who says they are a great tire. I am planning
to replace the original Goodrich tires soon on my '05 as they have
gotten so noisy they are bugging me. Question is whether I should
consider the Cross...

Missing link for power window repair by
jforn
Hi,
I am having problems with my power windows in a '92 Explorer. Old posts
reference a how-to-fix website put together by a Jeff Singleton. The
site is no longer active. Does anyone know where it went? Or do you
know of a good online guide?

Moon roof by
Don Phillipson
Is there a known problem with Ford moon roofs?
These have separate switches for two open settings
1 = Tilted up 5 degrees at the rear, to open a fresh
air slot 2 cm. high and full width.
2 = Slid wholly back about 12 inches.
After 5 years occasional use in our Focus wagon,
closing from #1 does not...

Moose Horn Engine Noise?? by

Hey - I've got a '98 Explorer, standard 6-cyl, auto, with about 120k miles.
In the last 2000 or so miles, it has developed a roaring noise when the
engine is hot and car is idling. The noise is very loud when the air intake
is removed from the air filter compartment. My mechanic said there's a...
