I have a '94 Ford Explorer that the brake lights are not working. The caution lights are running off the same fuse and these seem to work fine. I am thinking that it is not the bulbs or the fuse. Can anybody suggest something else for me to check or should I just break down and take it to the shop...

Are plastic connectors for injectors and other pieces available individually? by Doc
When pulling apart my '89 Cressida to replace the head gasket, I find a number of the electrical connectors are deteriorating, especially the outer shrouds, getting brittle and breaking, such as the connectors for the injectors. They can still be plugged in but losing a lot of dirt protection and...

Interesting. Really the "tire of the future" or a gimmick? http://www.michelinman.com/difference/releases/pressrelease01102005a.html

replacing sliders on a 90 Chev 1/2 ton by Ray[_5_]
Can anyone tell me if you can replace the sliding back window portions on a 1990 Chevy 1/2 ton? They got busted recently, and the quote for a new window installed is $500 and up. I was told by one place that they could do it if I brought them the windows, so I went to the junk yard and got...

Possible to Improvise Rings and Head Gasket? by Blake
Earlier this month, while doing smog-check maintenance, noticed that the oil filler cap on my '89 Daihatsu Charade pops up and almost falls out when I rev the engine from idle to 1500 rpm. Lots of smoke and oil spray. Ok, so it's time for an overhaul. Not an insurmountable problem. I've done a...

How to check valves for leaks? by Doc
I pulled the head on my '89 Toyota Cresidda and in a moment of ignorance, I laid the head on a wood dolly that had a towel on it valve-side down. Didn't realize at any given time a couple of the valves weren't going to be below the surface of the head. It was laid down gently but for a few minutes...
