1990 crankshaft gone! by
Jeff & Missy
I have a 90 with 103K on her and noticed she was suffering from a severe
lack of power. Posted symptoms to this group and received great advice. I
did some trouble shooting (plugs, wires, air cleaner...), but still no
improvement in performance. I took it to the local dealer who informed me
that...

any good plastic replacements in the bay area, CA? by
thomas
after reading all the different ways folks have changed their back plastic,
I think I'm leaning towards cutting out the plastic, and glueing a new one
on. My question is what type of plastic is best to use that you can get from
hardware stores.
I'm in the san jose, california area - is there...

is a 97 Miata "M" any bigger than other models ? by
Chief_Wiggum
So, this guy is telling me that he has a 97 "M" and it's bigger like the
M2...
Is he full of it ? (I think he is)..
AFAIK the only REAL body style differences were 90-97 and 99-2004, right ??

Vandalized '91 by
KWS
When I did this, I used a piece of wood and a staple gun to pull the slit in
the top closed (press repair sections firmly together). Do it in such a way
that once the goop dries, you can remove the staples. I used black RTV and
it seems to have worked OK.

Spark plug in oil + knocking/clicking noise by
Tingfang Ji
My 95 Miata had a knocking sound last year, which went away after a
major tune up. Recently the knocking sound came back. The clicking
sound also becomes faster as the engine speed increases.
The engine oil turned out to be half empty (<2 quarters left in 3
months). There was some leak on the...

1999 Miata by
Craig
Hello friends at rec.autos.makers.mazda.miata,
I'm thinking about buying a 99 Miata. I read on consumerguide.com that the
bearing caps on the 99's were not machined properly causing engine noise
(rattling) which requires a new block in order to be fixed. I was wondering
if anyone has had any...

Nose repair by
Morien Morgan
Cunningly I managed to ground the nose in IKEA. It was but a small grounding
but the flex seems to have opened up a previous split repair between the
corner of the mouth and the bottom of the nose. In the past I've repaired
minor dents to steel and ended up with invisible results but plastic...

How to repair Small Soft top tear by
Greg Cooper
What would be the best way to repair a very small (2mm) tear in the
vinal soft top?
Is this something that one can reasonably do ones self?
Where it is there is no problem with access to the back side of the tear.
Thanks.

Shocks & springs by

I'm going to have my shock absorbers replaced on my 55,000 mile 1992 MX5
following various postings here saying that the shocks will be well and
truly dead by now (to my knowledge they're still the original ones - there's
no record of them having been replaced, and when braking hard the...
