Giant Papyrus question. by Dances With Ferrets
I've had dwarf papyrus for years and have been thrilled with how easily it has thrived and reproduced. All I had to do was lop a few heads off an existing plant and plant the heads in wet potting soil, and a new plant would spring forth from each head. My question revolves around a giant papyrus...

UK pond problem by Dave
We recently moved into this house and "inherited" what could be a nice little pond. Trouble is, the previous owner hasn't cleaned it out or done anything to it since about July last year and it's a right mess of dead plants and blanketweed, but also now getting new growth on plants as well. It...

How to make raised pond attractive to wildlife by Dave Blake
I would like some advice on how to make a raised pond more wildlife friendly. First the pond: It is built using oak sleepers with a butyl liner waiting to be fitted, and oak capping to hold the liner down. This capping will over hang the inside edge by 2". The pond is 30" at the deepest, with a...

pumps by David
I have been using a Pondmaster Pump in my pond. It is a 1500 gph pump and has been a pretty good pump, although I have had to replace the impeller twice. It recently died and I was wondering what other options are out there. I need a pump that is low maintenance and can handle a bit of abuse if...
