Pinging by
[email protected]
Hello all,
My 1991 Miata, just never quit pinging (rattle noise), my mechanic
suggested to fill up with premium gas for a while and add Chevron
Techron, I did that but pinging is still there, with the current gas
price I really want to go back to regular gas, any ideas, suggessions
please.

Question for the group... by
XS11E
The Miata replaced the BMW R100RT because I'm not able to ride anymore
and can't walk very far due to arthritis in my lower back, knees, hips,
etc..
Because of that, I've got one of those pretty blue handicap tags to
hang on my rear view mirror when I park in a handicap space. FWIW,
Arizona will...

2005 MazdaSpeed wheels/tires by
bowman
I've got a 2005 MX5 Turbo that came loaded up with fancy, still like,
new Toyo tires and Racing Hart wheels. Total mileage 7000 miles as of
07/2010. I'm considering making this car my daily driver. In which
case I'd opt for lesser wheels and a good set of Michelin all weather
tires. Any idea how...

Wow! by

Is this group really defunct?
The car's run on but the enthusiasm is gone.
Guess it's better to have the entusiasm in the car on the road than at a
desk.
Guess I'll go on the raod and collect waves!

Ignition or fuel? by
Leon van Dommelen
I have a problem with the engine heavily backfiring in the exhaust
at 5000+ rpm if I put my foot into it, particularly during merging
operations on the Interstate. Maybe my foot is blocking the air
flow and I should take it out of the exhaust?
Anyway, a look below the hood showed a yellow sort of...

Racing Beat Power Pulse cat-back by
Alan Baker
What do you guys think of it?
I'm planning on a whole bunch of upgrades including:
Flyin Miata AFCOs with V8Roadster control arms, FM anti-roll bars and
their butterfly brace.
Because I've got this upcoming trip down to California with the GF.

2006 MX-5 price gouging by
DJA
Sorry if this has been asked before...
I remember the original "Additional Dealer Markup" issues with the 1st
gen Miata. Since the '06 will be an all new car, does anyone expect a
repeat of this practice? Do current buyers still pay a premium, or at
least something close to MSRP?
I guess demand...

Dura-crap battery by
pws[_1_]
As of today I am on my third Duralast battery for my Miata in less than
a year. They keep leaking, not cool. I do have a brand-new one again,
but my confidence level in it is zero.
I guess it is about time to order another Westco.

Wheel weight? by
Christopher Muto
I am looking for a new set of wheels and tires for my '95 and can't find any
OEM one locally for a reasonable price. I don't really care if they are 14"
or 15" and am planning on putting Falken Ziex's on them or perhaps
Bridgestone Traction TA's... Meaning that I am not looking to the ultimate

Another weird thing about my MSM by
Frank Berger
Did I mention that there isn't enough room to the left of the clutch pedal
for my foot? It's size 9 on a good day. Is the place for your foot for
show only? If you rest your foot there and lift it to clutch, it catches
the side of the clutch pedal. I wonder if the linkage can be bent a...

New to the MX-5 Forum by

Hi: I'm Bill and new to this forum. I hope to peruse the current and
past comments in search of joy and enlightenment. My site is
http://billsmiatamx5.wordpress.com/ and gives a better picture of my
love affair with my 1991 MX-5 (red) A-Pkg than I can give here. I'm
hoping to evolve my baby into my...

Texas idiots on ice (NMC) by

What is that cold, shiny stuff on the road, mamma? It shore looks slippery.
"No worry, son, we have a 4WD, 5000 pound vehicle with terrible handling

that it is 4WD will make up for that. After all, 4 wheels spinning out

So do you avoid poor weather? by
Rivergoat
Never mind about hurricanes...NO ONE should drive in those *:)
While I'm still in the preliminary mode of searching Miatas (NBs, and
low mileage ones at that) that I could possibly afford, I see some
people owning ones that state they've never drivien them in the rain
or snow. Certainly garaging...

How would you like to find this? by
pws[_1_]
Posted to the Austin list. This is supposedly a barn/storage building in
Portugal that was locked up and welded shut for at least 15 years. Worth
looking at for some of the old cars if you like them.
This would take forever to sort out, but what a fun...

need help identifying band (NMC) by

The only miata content here is that I need to know the name of this band
so that I can get some music from them to listen to in my miata.
I am not sure why they did not go big, this is one of the finest musical
endeavors by any band ever. The video just gets better and better as it...

What I don't like about my "new" MSM. by
Frank Berger
1. Harsh ride. I attribute this to the 17" wheels, which I do think are
good looking. Not bizarrely large like some say. If I decide to keep the
car, for sure I will get smaller wheels. Not sure if I have to go down to
15" do make a difference, or what the wheel/tire choices are in 16,"...

2008 and Premium Gas by
socamb
I am considering purchasing a 2008 miata. O have a 1997 and love it. I
noticed the 2008 miata required premium gas. Is this true. The dealer
said it does not really require it.
I will have a hard time purchasing a car that required premium gas
these days.
any thoughts the group has would be...
