###TIMING BELT CONSPIRACY THEORY### by [email protected]
That's funny but true.My question is if there is damage to the engine would there be any leakage or signs of oil residue? And if none is present could the chances of engine valve damage be diminished?

Outside edge of front tires stairstepping by Chaya Eve
Is it normal for the outside edges of the front tires to be stairstepping on the outer inch or two only? By stairstepping, I mean that you can't see the wear all that much but if you rub your hand over the tread in one direction, you can feel a lip on each side swipe tread. If you run your hand...

heater inspection by micky
I'm only acquainted with car inspection in Pa.and Md. but on TV I saw a woman who bougght a used car, found out that the heater core was leaking, and didn't take it for inspection until after she fixed the heater. Is there any state where that would cause a car to fail inspection?

Warning, don't pour by micky
Warning, never pour fuel... into the throttle body air inlet opening in an attempt to start your car. Could result in flash fire..." I did this 2 or 3 times with carbureted cars, but I'm sure the same warning would be given for those cars if they were sold new now. However it worked well. I only...

How do you handle unencrypted web sites even with https encryption? by ATANARJUAT
I'm just curious how you handle logging into unencrypted web sites even when the site itself has encryption? http://wetakepic.com/images/2017/07/04/site.jpg You don't need a login to test this - you just need to type one letter in the login field to see what I explain...

Want to save ebay ad for car I bought by micky
I bought a car on ebay last Thursday, and his ad included ~60 pictures!, so I wanted to save them, and using Firefox, I clicked on Save Page as, which is supposed to save every little part of a webpage, and at least once I've tried that and it worked. But this time I did it with the original...

2006 Chevrolet 3/4 ton express van, door switch problem? by [email protected]
I have a 2006 Chevrolet 2500 3/4 ton express van. Instead of a simple switch in the door frame, lately the mechanism that turns on the dome light and shuts off the radio when you open the door is failing intermittently. That is sometimes the light comes on and the radio goes off as soon as the door...

What is this? [SOLVED] by micky
This is not a question, just fyi. I'm cleaning out my old car to sell it, and I found in the ashtray an unusual plastic thing, and I was going to post a picture of it here so you all could tell me what it was, so I'd know whether to leave it in the car or keep it. I know I put it there 3 years...

Need Weight-Split For My Car! by [email protected]
I need the weight distribution for my car but cannot find it ANYWHERE on line, even at the manufacturers website. "60/40" or "55/45" are typical splits for most front-wheel drives. This is BASIC information, like what kind of fuel the vehicle uses, and it's not available anywhere for my...

Using Vaseline on Battery Terminals by jim evans
For years I've heard the advice to coat battery posts & terminals with Vaseline to prevent corrosion. I've never done it because it seems like the grease would act like an insulator and impede electrical conduction between the posts and terminals. Do others who use it have any problems with...

Can anyone please recommend the best car cover for UV resistance for me? I purchased a Budge Platinum Series with a 12 year warranty car cover and it fell apart in less than a year. It seems it isn’t resistant to UV.

Hello, everyone. On my way home from the office recently I was entering a limited access highway in my 2011 Ford Focus when I encountered what I thought was a heavy object striking the side of my vehicle. I figured at the very least I should have a large dent(s) on the side of my car but a...
