Carpet template for Explorer? by Scot
Does anyone know where I can find a template, or the measurements, for the carpet in the cargo area of a 1991 - 1994 Explorer? The template may even be the same for later models. There aren't any Explorers in the salvage yards around here. Thanks.

Restore color to Exterior black trim? by Richard Ray
Yes, I have heard of it. Yes, it does work for about the same length of time as Armor All. Moral of story is do not put any wax or silicone based material on outdoor plastic trim. Scot wrote: > Has anyone used a product called "Back to Black"? How does it work on > exterior door trim, especially...

Crankshaft Pulley Removal '92 4.0 by Ulysses
So, how do I remove the crankshaft pulley from my 4.0 '92? How do I keep the pulley from turning while trying to remove the screw? Is the screw standard thread (counterclockwise to remove)? I modified a strap wrench to hold the pulley but I'm afraid of snapping off the bolt at this...

rough idling by Marc Chumney
I have a 2000 V8 Explorer. All of a sudden today, the 'check engine light' came on and it is idling rough. I have also noticed a decrease in acceleration and there is a gassy/oil smell when I get out of the car. Any ideas as to what is wrong. It only has 60k miles. Thanks

1996 Ranger XLT: Can I retrofit a factory CD player? by [email protected]
Hi; 1996 Ranger XLT ext cab, 4.0, 5 spd manual. Factory casette am/fm radio. I am curious as to whether I can find a factory cd player to replace the am/fm casette player in my ranger. Ebay has lots, but I haven't seen much for 1996 specifically.

FS: A4LD transmission - used - $150 by news
I have a used Ford A4LD Transmission that is supposed to be working fine, except for possibly a bent flex plate. I bought it off of a guy in L.A. that said he converted his truck to a manual transmission, because he was just getting into taking his truck for some serious off roadin'. He said it was...

O/D switch on 1996 by MD
My O/d switch has been on the fritz for a while now and I was just playing with it and noticed that it seems to work when the tilt steering is fully released with the steering wheel at its highest point. When I slam it down into the lowest point, drive mode for me, it doesn't seem to work. What...

Check AdvanceTrack by Larry Brown
Hello: I've got a 2002 Explorer Limited with v8 and AdvanceTrac. It has 50,000 miles. Today the message center comes on with the message "Check AdvanceTrac". In addition, the 4x4 lights will flash occasionally and the 4x4 buttons no longer have any effect. The AdvanceTrac icon on the dash stays...

Climate control mode question by FerdyPooh
Do all Ford vehicles "leak" air to the floor vents when the climate control selector is set to dash outlet? Every Ford I've ever owned lets air leak through to the floor vents when the selector is set to dash outlet. It's a absolutely aggravating thing to have my feet freezing when the A/C is on....

air conditioner seized by *selah*
We've got a 92 explorer. The air conditioner motor has seized and the fan belt is just slipping over it. I assume this isn't too good for the belt, and also would make the generator turn more slowly? It still turns a little sometimes. Is there a simple way to add oil and unstick it?

New transmission by jtblue33
Hello. I have a 99 explorer sport SOHC 99K miles. I just had the entire transmission replaced: torque converter, transmission, bell housing with pump. Sorry if I don't know all of the parts, that's pretty much what they told me. Just picked it up, it runs great. Just curious as to cost. I paid...
