What doesn't work....and a question by
Hal
Cut-to-fit hoses. Total crap. I bought them from Autozone(I know, you
may commence insulting me now...) when I was doing the water pump/
timing belt job on my 97 NA. I needed new hoses, the originals were a
little crusty looking and I wanted to drive the car. I noted when I
was installing them that...

What did I fry in my dashboard? by
[email protected]
Over the weekend I fried a red/gray (or black) wire located just to the
right of the steering column leading into the center console in my '92 Miata
along the bottom of the dashbord. It paralleled a blue wire.
My guess is there was a short involving the Viper security system toggle
switch, which I...

I've decided I can BUY a scanner just as cheap
The thing is... what reasonable priced consumer level
scanner to buy? What brand and model?
Have 2000 Mazda Protege ES

What can you say? by
Chris D'Agnolo
Sorry if long.....
I finally got to go do a long anticipated driving trip to Phoenix (from
Houston!) with my 'lil brother (and his RX-8 :). After much research, I
planned a Phoenix / Globe / Safford / Clifton (US 191) / Eager / Show Low /
Globe / Phoenix, round trip.
Those of you who don't...

What am I missing? by
Randy Maheux
In 5 weeks I will be moving from San Diego to the Daytona Beach area. My
problem is getting my Miata back east. I could drive it in 4 - 12 hour days
or pay Mayflower to haul it with my furniture. Nine years ago I was a
zombie after driving a Ford Ranger from Tampa to San Diego in 4 days. ...

Wet trunk by
Henkerman
After a period of recent rains I find that I have a wet trunk in my
recently purchased 1992 MX-5. The trunk lid rubber seal appears to be
sound and pliable. I noticed the dampness is on the upper left area of
the trunk bottom as you look at the car from the rear as well as the
lower level...

Westco battery fails (again) by
Frank Berger
Second time in four years. I don't know why I only seem to get 3-4 years
out of a Westco, when I hear people get 5-7 years. Is my result really
atypical?

Weird Wyoming road sign by
Scott Hughes[_2_]
Does anyone here live near NW Wyoming? On a highway in WY (I believe it
was HWY 20 up around Yellowstone), there are signs with the letter L and
three dots on them. One would have an upright L with the three dots, then
the L would be upside down w/ the dots, then the L would be backwards and...

Weird Question... by
XS11E[_3_]
When my Miata was vandalized and a few items stolen the @#&(*&^%s tried
to pull off the tonneau cover by brute force cracking the dash on the
passenger's side where the studs for the tonneau screw in and now
they've become very loose so....
If I pull the glove box or center console/radio or ???...

Weird noise diagnosis request by
Carbon
My MSM is making a strange grinding noise when I push in the clutch when
the car is in gear. It seems like it drives fine otherwise. Is this
likely to leave me stranded or do I have time before I have to deal with
it?
Slave cylinder maybe?

Weird electrical issue... by

....with my wipers and fan. Not the engine's fan, but the fan for the
cabin air.
I took a long trip in my 90A from Vancouver to Edmonton and then home
again (I'm actually writing this from my last stop in the Okanagan) with
my GF.
And somewhere along the line in Banff/Jasper national parks, my...

Weird AC problem. by
XS11E[_1_]
Yesterday the 1992 Miata got a bath, charged up the battery (I
haven't driven it in awhile, it bothers my knee too much. Time to
sell?) and off I go, top up, AC on, AC seemed to cool for a few
blocks and then started blowing hot air. Got where I was going and
parked for a few hours, going home...

Weather forecast... by
XS11E[_3_]
Everyone in Arizona and California can disregard the forecast, I have
to drive to the left coast on Tuesday so yesterday I bought new wiper
blades for the Miata. We all know it won't rain if you have new wiper
blades.... ;-)
