Why is 6th gear so low (2006 Sport) by Mark in KC
I feel like my car is getting undue engine wear and wasting gas on the highway because in 6th gear, going 60 mph it's doing almost 3,000 rpm. Does anyone know why they made 6th gear so low? Thanks. Mark

Why do California timing belts last longer ? by Chief_Wiggum
I was thumbing through the manual, and it states the timing belt should be changed at 60k, but specifies 100k for cars originally sold in California (and a few other states, which I now forget).. What gives ? did they ACTUALLY put better belts in some cars, or what ?

Why can't I find an OEM front bumper? by Michael Danielson
I have a 2002 silver-grey Miata in which I cracked the front bumper cover in a very low speed accident. I want to replace the bumper cover but cannot find a replacement unit that is Original equiment. My research has been on the internet (Google) and on ebay. Does the Miata factory not make...

Who's here? by Chris D'Agnolo
Well, it's been entirely too quiet around here lately. The only really interesting posts I've seen lately on this thread were political (off topic) and as much as I love this groups ability to stay on topic (unlike most newsgroups), it was at least nice to see human communication taking place....

Who wants a 2004 Miata Speed? by pws[_1_]
http://austin.craigslist.org/car/306250597.html Did any of the M2's come with a tilt steering wheel? I thought it was introduced with the NC. If you will note, this "Miata Speed" has special features like interval wipers, a clock, a trip odometer, power brakes, and best of all, this...

Who makes the MX5 & where by The Invisible Man
Hi We have a 2002 MX5 which was well put together and has been completely reliable. We are considering buying a new MX5 in 2007. Where are they built and by who? Not all Mazdas are built in Japan and I am worried that Ford's influence might start resulting in them being as problem prone as...

White stuff from the sky! OT by pws[_1_]
After 6 years and 9 days, we are receiving snowfall in the Austin area that is sticking to the ground. The weatherman got it right for once! The date is easy for me to remember because the last one was on Valentines Day of 2004, and I have a picture of me proudly standing behind my 2 foot...

White Paint on NA's by Chris D'Agnolo
Anthony's recent post about purchasing a NA White Miata got me thinking about a couple of questions I've never gotten a good answer to. 1) Anybody else notice allot of white cars / trucks from the early 90's had paint peeling problems ? 2) Was this cooincidence or was there an EPA mandated change...

White "spots"/corrosion/oxidation of Miata latches and screws??? by [email protected]
I have a 2003 Miata that was driven in Florida for the last 2 years. Over the last year, the interior convertible latches, springs, and screws have developed some sort of white crust/oxidation on the exposed sections. It's not just limited to the interior, since I have also found that some of the...

Which is the best year of MX-5? by ner_ner
I am looking at buying an MX-5 for a weekend/track day car and I would be interested in hearing what people think are the best of the MX-5s over the years. I have been told by a few people that the first of the 1.8s are the best? What do you think?

Which exhaust mod for '97 w/ JRSC? by Dave Smith[_1_]
I have a '97 with a Jackson supercharger. I have 5000 miles on the SC and I love it. Now I have enough money to put on either headers or a better muffler/cat. Looking at the exhaust manifold, it looks fairly non-restrictive so I'm thinking that I might get the most bang for the buck with a...

Which clutch by peter
Hi, I got a clutch today, (A stocker), but I was offered a ceramic one as well for the rebuilding of my 95 jr/sc'd car. I figured a ceramic one would be too aggressive for daily driving. Do you Agree? tia, peter

Which Brake Pads by Scott Streeter[_1_]
Just looking for an inexpensive set of pads for my 2000. Moss Motors has Standard replacement pads in Genuine Mazda Parts and "aftermarket". The aftermarket are significantly cheaper. Anyone try these? Also they have Mintex pads which are only slighty more. I was leaning toward them since I can...

Where's the rub? by Christopher Muto
I have a brake related rubbing sound coming from my rear driver side wheel. It changes with speed and can be suppressed by pulling on the emergency brake so it is definitely is coming from the rear. I had thought I my two year / 15k mile rotor might have become warped so I installed new rear...

Where's the best place to find a NEW TOP ?? by Chief_Wiggum
Any reccomendations on where to get a new top and window for a 95 Miata? Also, what's needed to put in a glass window ? I'm thinking as long as the top's getting replaced it may be nice to put in glass . (unless it's too cost prohibitive). Thanxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Where to mount alarm main box? by Steven Spits
Hi group, I have an alarm lying around that's waiting to secure my Miata from the scum of this world (actually, I don't care about the alarm itself, but it would be nice to have central door locking again). I wonder what would be the best place to mount the main box? The previous one (went...
