Update: '90 Miata cranks , but won't start by
darylDJ
Thanks to everyone who responded so fast!
Some additional info and areas ck'd thanks to your guidance.
The timing belt was replaced @ 45M. I confirmed camshafts are turning
when the engine is cranked. Note: when the engine did start, it fired
immediatly with not so much as a hick-up. Timing was...

update on '92 stuck mirrors by
~AlicGinnis~
Hi,
A long time ago I posted here asking about how to fix my mirrors that
wouldn't budge. I was given advice on how to proceed and here's what
happened.
I started with the passenger side. By sticking a screwdriver in a small
slot at the base of the housing the housing popped off its...

upcoming Laguna Seca - Miata event by
Chris D'Agnolo[_2_]
Anybody here planning to be there? I'm scheming real hard to figure out a
way to do it. It's ~1800 miles each way for me! Looks like too much fun to
pass up though.

Unexplained Temp rise at 4k RPM by
[email protected]
Hi, it's been long time since I've been in here.
I have a 90 miata, with a 92 engine (crankshaft failure) that I just
replaced the alternator and belt back in December. The temperature
would go up when ever I drove above 4000 rpm for more than a few
seconds. I assumed that the belt was slipping,...

uneven tire wear by
Tonyrama
Hi all
Brought my '93 in for an inspection sticker, and they flunked the two
passenger side tires. Said that they were worn down to the wear bars on the
inboard edges. I guess that those two are a little more worn on the inside
edges than the outside edges, though I disagree on the severity. I...

Underpanel opinions? by
XS11E[_3_]
Any opinions on this: http://store.miataparts.org/mibealunpa19.html
I have the original plastic/cardboard/regurgitated-compressed-yakfat
thingy which is pretty well shredded.
I'm sure I can find better uses for $200 such as a couple of gallons of
gasoline but......

Under-engine tray by
KKennedy
Anyone ever replace the under-engine tray? The one in my '99 MX-5 got
ripped and I just received a new one from Moss. I'm wondering if there's
anything I should watch out for when installing it.

under the hood by
Professor[_2_]
I just recently subscribed to this NG so forgive me if
this has been discussed many times before but.....
Why hasn't Mazda offered the more powerful engine from
the MazdaSpeed 3 for the Miata.
It seems to me a natural for those looking for a
"bigger bang".

UK MX5: what's the use of a rectifier? by
Jeroen Feelders
Last week I ordered a Pipercross Inductionkit at mx5parts.co.uk. In the
manual a photo was shown with a rectifier on it (photos:
http://www.mx5club.nl/bbs/Forum2/HTML/000716.html -> upper photo, the block
on the front). My '91 Miata doesn't have such a thing and neither do a lot
of Miatas and Mx5's...

UK MX-5 iPod connector problem by
Invisible Man
Hi All
Just got an iPod Nano which appears to work fine.
Connected it to the standard docking station in our MX-5 Coupe.
Mazda symbol etc. shows correctly on iPod screen but nothing shows on
audio display of MX-5 so cannot access iPod to play it.
Car is a 2007 2.0 Coupe and has standard UK...

UK Mazda 3 Sport battery draining. by
Invisible Man
Our 2002 MX-5 used to get a flat battery if not driven regularly. Fixed
by getting a battery conditioner.
Our 2004 3 Sport suffers from a flat battery unless it gets regular long
journeys. Does not seem to be a problem if we turn the alarm off.
Last week the car was used for about 10 3mile...

UK Mazda 3 - Engine Management Light by
Jon[_10_]
Hello all,
I have a 2007 Mazda 3 Diesel and for the past year, the engine
management light has been on. It has been back and forward to the
Dealership but they can't find any problems and are continuing to
look.
Does anyone else have experience of this or know what it could be?
Thanks in advance,

Tyres - UK Mazda MX5 by
The invisible man
Hi All
Can anyone help to identify any tyres that are particularly good on MX5s
The car is a 2002 1.8i
It is used throughout the year in Essex, England which is fairly dry but
damp enough for the back to step out if I am careless enough to accelerate
on a roundabout.

tyre recommendation by
AdrianR
Anyone got a recommendation for new tyres for my mx18? The current tyres
came with the car when new and are Michelin 195/50R15 82V. I live and drive
year round in the north of England, so they will have to cope with some
snow.

Tyre Pressures Sportrac 2 - Help please. by
The invisible man
Hi All
I have just put Vredestein Sportrac 2 185 60 14 82V all round my 2002 MX5
1.8i.
The pressures on the label on the car are 26psi. I ran the Yoko Advan A460
that were on the car at 26psi and they wore reasonably evenly across the
tread.
The Vredestein site gives a pressure of 220kPa front...

Today, Mr. Postman brought me the recommended book "Mazda Miata

I've looked at it very briefly and it seems like exactly what I need,
thanks a bunch to gixer who recommended it, it's gonna be a life saver
even though I'm probably not...

Two questions: by
XS11E
I'm gradually turning a very small split in the driver's arm rest into
a much larger split. Anyone have any success in repairing these? I
can find an armrest on Ebay but I'd rather fix the one I have if it's
possible.
Next question, I've also got a small crack in the dash above the glove
box, I...
