removing door handle by
Dennis Leong
I just got a passenger side door for a 2001 Accord coupe. I've gotten the
door completely stripped except for the door handle. The only thing I can
see preventing it from coming off w/o mangling it is the lock cylinder.
There is a metal plate behind the handle that interlocks with the lock...

Noisy 2006 Odyssey brakes? by
Art[_1_]
I had my minivan in to the dealer for an oil and filter change and mentioned
that if I had a medium hard stop (I never hit the brakes hard,
intentionally), if I touch them again within a few minutes they sound
awful.... very loud rubbing sound. Apparently there is a tsb for noisy
brakes and...

Steering/Braking problem and bad smell! by
Brian[_5_]
This morning I noticed an unpleasant smell shortly after I made a turn
on my commute to work. It smelled sort of like gas, only a bit more
"toxic". I thought maybe it was the guy in front of me or just
something in the air (I do live in New Jersey, after all!). But shortly
after that, I noticed...

Accord 2001 vibrations above 50-60 mph by
[email protected]
Greetings,
I recently noticed in my Accord 2001 vibrations that occur (or
noticeable?) only when I go above certain speed (obviously in the
highway). It would be safe to say that it occurs above 60 mph.
I don't remember having this kind of noise before. I bought the car new
in summer 2001 and I...

smell of gas by
rustyrootdown
I have a 91 civic dx hatchback 5-speed manual, after running the car for a
while I can frequently smell gas when exiting the vehicle. There does not
appear to be a leak as I have never noticed any fresh liquid deposits
under the car. Can anyone direct me to potential causes/troubleshooting
steps...

96 Civic diagnosed with bad rod--then changed to bad clutch?? by
planetx
I have a 96 Civic manual with 126k on it. For nearly a year the
engine(or what I thought was the engine) would make a clunky noise when
driving mainly uphill at a lower rpm. I always go to the dealer for
service as I am always a bit unsure how to find a trustworthy mechanic.
The dealer the first...

Pinging, pinking, knocking...? by
sharx333
Hi, my 1.6L 4-cylinder Civic often makes a "clicking" noise, especially
when under load in too high a gear. Sometimes even at the "correct"
gear, when accelerating.
Is this pinging, pinking, tappet noise, detonation, spark knock, etc?
I've searched the posts, but I'm now more confused. Some people...

98 Accord Ignition switch failed AGAIN!!! by
FunkyKev
1st I fixed it. Then 2 months later Honda issued their recall and I
had to go to the dealer and have them do the work to get reimbursed for
my part purchase. Now the damn thing is flaking out again/ cutting off
randomly. Think I have any remote chance if I fuss enough to get this
fixed yet...

A friend of mine wants me to change his timing belt and water pump on
his 86 Honda Accord. I have replaced mine 3 times on my own 1993 Honda
civic. Is there anything difference as far as the basic setup. ie.
Does it have a balance shaft belt? Are the timing marks on the pulleys
lined up the...

1990 Honda Accord: trunk still leaks by
John Smith[_6_]
I have a 1990 Honda Accord DX. Few months ago, I found that its
trunk leaked. I caulked the tailgate light gasket. That fixed the
leaking problem of the driver's side but the passenger side still
leaked. I caulked it again, and eventually five times, to no
avail. I knew a new gasket would not help....

Diagnostic code interpritations by
John[_4_]
Recently, on my 99 Civic EX I've replaced the exhaust from the
catylitic converter onward and also replaced all of the exhaust gaskets
and nuts/bolts, etc. During this unlikely hellish event I had to
resort to a hacksaw and a hammer to free several bolts, the worst of
which were the pre-cat....

I replaced everything except the shocks and springs.
I must say, very emphatically, that this project would have been
thoroughly impossible had it not been for my DeWalt electric impact gun.
That thing is capable of 325 ft/lbs...

Civic DelSol Won't Start by
[email protected]
Hello:
I drove the car to the store. Everything working perfectly. I get back
in it and the door beep slowly died and now the car won't start. It
won't turn over, no indicator lights, no beeps. Totally dead.
A kind stranger offered to jump it and it started right up. Drove home
(thank god) and...
