2000 Cherokee Rear Defroster by
jb
My rear isn't working and I traced the problem to what I believe to be
the component within the instrument panel. Must the entire instrument
panel be replaced or can the component within be repaired?

Auto Battery Recharging Time by
Erehwon
How long should a car have to run to bring a good battery back up to full
charge after starting? Parents have a year and a half old battery in their
car. For the past 6 months or so, they've had frequent occasions when the
battery hasn't had enough power to start the car, requiring a jump. ...

300m door-lock re-programming question by
MoPar Man
When I lock the doors on my 300m (using the key fob to set the alarm)
then naturally all 4 doors will lock themselves.
When I want to get back into the car, I'll press (one time) the
alarm-deactivate button, but only the driver's door will unlock. Is
there any way that ALL doors will unlock...

Looking to buy Jeep with 100k, what to look out for? by
[email protected]
I'm looking to pick up a used Jeep Wrangler (97-99) which will likely
have around 100k on it. I plan to take the vehicle on a long trip of
around 10,000 miles this summer. What are some of the things I should
be aware of? 4 cyl versus 6 cyl? Reliability? Common flaws?
Thanks for any comments.

Apology by
Simon
Hello,
Just a quick apology to the group.
I just found this group yesterday and responded in a few threads. I have
just noticed that some of those threads are quite old. In fact I am
astounded to find that I am just now reading a thread from 2005. That is
astounding post retention.
Anyhow,...

A general air bag question by
Pete E. Kruzer
This morning a car pulled out in front of my sister in law and
husband. He didn't have time
to brake. He believes the two or three year old Avalon is totaled.
Everyone is OK, the sister in law was taken to the hospital for chest
pains. Probably due
to the seat belt.
My question is......... Not one...

How many Americans knew that Obama was in Canada yesterday? by
MoPar Man
Very interesting to see hardly any US media coverage of Obama's historic
first foreign visit as president. Normally the media covers everything
Obama does, every door knob he reaches for that's really a window, etc.
Also very interesting to see not one mention of the trip to Ottawa...

1997 Grand Caravan Sport clockspring install by
Monster Zero
Well I'm getting ready to buy and install this after many weeks of research,
checking the Chrysler site to see if my van qualifies for the recall and it
doesn't. Does anyone here have any advice for me before I take on this
endeavor? I am not a mechanic but am mechanically inclined and have done...

Big 3 blows it again, Japs eating their lunch by
DeserTBoB
Per CNBC minutes ago, sales of the new sub-subcompacts from Japanese
manufacturers are exceeding expectations by a wide margin. These are
the Toyota Yaris, the Honda Fit and the Nissan Versa. Dealers cannot
keep these models on the lot, while Big 3 dealers' stock is growing
spider webs. As...

Body Control Module 98 Caravan-problem? by
[email protected]
I had to recently replace the body control module in my 98 Caravan
because of a windshield wiper problem. I could only afford a used one
which solved that problem but created another one. Now my total mileage
(kilometerage?) reading has gone up from approx 170,000km to approx
220,000km immediately...

Battery replacement issue (big one) by
afx
My wife's 1998 Concorde 3.2l was shutting down every once in a while
and the battery was kind of old so I went over to walmart and got a
MAXX-34s battery, I put it in and right when I put the negative
terminal on it started spewing sparks (burned the hell out of my
hand). I pulled the cable out and...

Battery Life/300M by
Ralph Griffith
Just wanted to pass this along and solicit any comments.
I purchased my 300M in August 1998, it is considered a 1999. We now have
58,000 miles on it and the original battery is still there and she starts
strong - this August will make 9 years! thanks for commenting... Ralph

Bad Shaking Issue by
Tom Rogers
I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan, 85,560 miles on it, and VERY intermittently,
while driving at highway speeds, I will get a really bad vibration through
the entire vehicle. No set time it lasts, some times long (miles), some
times short (mile). No indicator lights come on, car is not getting hot....
