Bait and switch by
Percival P. Cassidy[_2_]
I just found two listings (by different dealerships in different States)
for what purported to be used Prius Fours, which, when I checked the VIN
at carfax.com, turned out to be Prius Twos.
Is this kind of thing common with other models and makes, or is bait and
switch easier and more common...

Sorry can't afford a car? Ride a Bike, stupid! by
ComandanteBanana
This is not exactly the average rescue plan out there, but perhaps it
is the one with the most common sense. Why bother rescuing something
that deserves dying, and rather grab the opportunity to make people go
out there an enjoy the smartest vehicle ever created?
Oh no. Can we ever show cleverness...

Window Tint Jackass by
none[_3_]
Hi,
I don't know what came over my girlfriend, but a few days ago she decided
to take her extremely nice BMW to a hole-in-the-wall shop to have the
windows tinted. She didn't tell me until the day of the appointment. The
guy charged like $100, which was my first clue that it wasn't going to...

WHERE is the PS pump pivot bolt on a '93 Sentra? by
DemoDisk
I thought I'd save some money buying and replacing three engine belts
myself -- AC, PS/WP, and Alternator. The job turned out to be a lot
harder than I imagined.
Day 1. (Afternoon, actually; it's really hot out there.) The outermost
belt (the A/C) gave up quickly once I figured out the idler...

Synthetic ATF in 2005 Lincoln Town Car? by
The Derfer[_2_]
Does anyone recommend or not recommend
using Synthetic ATF (Mobil most likely) in a
2005 Lincoln Town Car signature limited?
The car would normally take Mercon V.
I'm looking for real longevity out of the
transmission and perhaps, but secondarily,
smoother shifting and a performance edge.
But...

Boris Bikes get royal seal of approval - "they're lovely," says the Queen by
Simon Mason[_3_]
QUOTE:
The Queen has revealed that she is a fan of London’s dark blue Boris
Bikes – although unlike her counterparts in ‘bicycle monarchies’ such
as the Netherlands and Denmark, it’s a pretty safe bet that Her
Majesty will never be seen riding through the streets of the capital
on two...

Insurance question - rental car by
Joe
I had rented a car and had listed a friend as an additional driver. When he
was parking - he happened to slightly scratche against another car that was
near by. There was a minor scratch on the rented car in the front bumper. On
the other car also there was a very minor scratch - no dents. The...

What's So Bad About Consumer Reports? by
RobertG1
Greetings,
Recently I posted a message to an auto newsgroup, it may have been this one,
and I had replys of disapproval for my choice of where I got my auto
information. I said I read Car and Driver and Consumer Reports. It was the
second of these that I was given a hard time about. I don't see...

What car did I see? by
JB
The car I saw was not a Toyota Echo - though not a car fanatic, I know
what both the Echo and the Toyota symbol look like. I want to say
that it was a "Tuscan", but in doing a search on the net, all I come
up with is a model from TVR that looks like a race car - nothing like
what I saw.

keyless entry installation by
Jones
I have a 1998 Plymouth Breeze, base model with no power locks, and the
trunk release is the latch on the floor beside the driver's seat. Is
there any way to add a keyless entry system &/or a remote starter
system to this vehicle?

1975 Pacer Gas Cap by
Danny
I am trying to locate a gas cap for a 1975 Pacer. I am told that this
year the cap is not the same as later years. It is a disc that matches
the color of the car. A friend who is 90 and bought the 75 pacer new
has lost his gas cap after 28 years of driving the car. It would mean
a lot if I could...

Tires Question by
Chuck Hildebrandt
I got a nail in one of my tires (left rear). The nail entered the
tire between the tread and teh sidewall, sort of on an angle into the
tire.
The tire retailer said they could not repair the tire because it did
not go in flush at the bottom (tread area), so I had to buy a new one
($150!!).
Does...

Which Auto is Right for My Family by

I love autos and this is my first posting to this newsgroup. I'm always

Here's my problem: I can't decide which vehicle would be best for my family.
I'm married with 2 children, ages 10...

Current production cars with the smallest engines by
aniram
What car brands that are currently still in production and have the
smallest engines?
I recall some small Japanese cars, like Daihatsu, Mazda500 (500cc),
Fiat600 or 750 (600cc and 750cc).
How big of an engine is BMW Isetta? Is it still being produced now?
What about French cars .. .like Citroen CV,...
