Howes: Toyota not looking so shiny now
DANIEL HOWES
Is the Toyota Motor Corp. juggernaut losing its conqueror-of-the-world
mojo?
Because if it was a Detroit automaker that was recalling 4.26 million
vehicles to repair accelerator problems, or if it was a Detroit
automaker that...

Junkyard transmission advice by
Sara Brown
I have a 1994 Dodge Caravan that has a shot transmission. Other than
that it ran fine so I`d like to get it back on the road for my brother
to use. Obviously the cheapest way to go is to get a transmission from
a van at the local pick-it yourself junkyard. ($80). Any words of
advice on what to look...

1999 Pontiac Grand Prix SE - no start by
Jack[_28_]
I'm helping a young friend diagnose his 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix SE
no-start condition over the phone. The problem arose gradually with
stalling, and hard starting.
We've determined that it has spark and the fuel pump whirs when the key
is turned on.
The EVAP vent valve has been replaced because a...

BWM 525 Brake Rotor - Wear Sensor Ridges by
John Baker[_2_]
The stock 2003 BWM 525 brake rotors have raised ridges on the inner and
outer edges of the rotor to trip the brake pad wear sensor. Will after
market rotors have the same feature or will they be flush at the edges
and not trip the brake pad wear sensor?

Camry red flag raised in 2004 by
john
"As early as 2004, authorities investigated reports of unintended
acceleration in Toyota's best-selling model, the Camry.
But the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration looked at
incidents lasting only 1 second or less.
That limit came after a former official who went to work for...

Toyota Recall And Cars Made In Japan ? by
Bob[_53_]
Hello,
Was thinking of buying a new Corolla, but...
Question: is it true that those vehicles that have a J in front of
their VIN number, and presumably made in Japan, are not subject to the
recall ?
Their gas pedal assembly is of a different design, manufactured
elsewhere, or...?
