I have 98 Honda Civic 4-door sedan and the rear door suddenly stopped opening. The door has a child lock enabled - but I could alway unlock open it from outside. Now I can't open it from outside or the inside (child locked). Any thoughts on what could be wrong? All the locks go up and down - as...

Air Car by Don Stauffer in Minnesota
There is some info on that Air Car from India in the new Motor Trend. It is more sophisticated than I thought. It does burn fuel to heat compressed air from tank before it enters engine, to boost efficiency. That makes it similar to a steam engine, an air Rankine cycle engine! Very interesting.

Readiness Monitors? by M.M.
I just had my 98 Chevy Astro van emission tested (Arizona/Maricopa County). It passed OK but there's an entry in the results section of the report that says 'Readiness Monitors that are not ready: Oxygen Sensor Heater'. What does that mean? Is there a problem with the O2 sensor that I should be...

G'day, I would like to know what is the threshold of GM cars (Pontial Sunfire in particular) regarding deployment of the Air bags? i.e. at whats the minimum speed of the impact that the air bags should pop open? I had a fender bender in a rush hour traffic (may be at 5km/h) and the Air bags...

Status of polarizing headlamp filters by Old Wolf
I was reading about this idea today. If all headlamps are fitted with a polarizing filter, then other drivers can almost completely eliminate glare by wearing glasses (or coating their windscreen) with another polarizing filter, perpendicular to the other. The article I read noted that one major...

Apropos of Toyota MDT in MO's previous help in my A/C-electric Qs, here's an update (and how I spent July 4th) <g>: The car is in fact a 91 toyota corolla DX wagon, altho the windshield sticker says "SUBN". Solved, but did not fix, the A/C problem. It's indeed the low pressure switch, and...

A/C Help - Chevy Venture - Where is Low pressure switch? by Lee[_3_]
Our A/C on our 2003 Chevrolet Venture van started blowing only warm air. I checked the pressure and there is coolant in the system (I checked pressure with a guage on one of those hoses you get with the can of R134, didn't put any R134 in and it reads about 100 psi on a 85 degree day). The...
