96 Accord Cruise control problem by me
My 96 Accord (Canada) developed an intermittent problem with the cruise control. When it is not going to work, as you engage cruise it works but only for a second (and the light in the dash comes on well), then everything goes off. If I keep insisting (it will take many tries) it will eventually...

Question about power door actuators by Al Reynolds
Morning all, OK, so I have the problem of the screech/squeal after locking the doors on my 97 Accord Wagon. It's not the problem where the doors repeatedly try to lock. It seems like it's the front passenger door actuator, and searching archives seems to confirm this is a distinct possibility,...

Hi, I had a 97 5spd EX that got totaled and it started doing but did not have enough time to investigate it. I just bought a 96 EX 4cy auto today. My ABS light stays on and makes a funny noise for about 5-10 seconds and the sound goes away but the light stays on. Does anyone have any info on...

Which calipers for USA made '05 Accord LX? by Charles Lasitter
Apparently one kind of caliper (and therefore pad) was made for models in the USA, and another for cars built in Japan. Anyone know if it was the Akebono or Nissan calipers that went on the US models? And: Any way of identifying the two calipers visually? TIA! -- CL.

96 Accord front rotors badly warped by Grey-hound
I'm the 2nd owner of a 4 door Accord 4 cyl a/t LX w/116k miles on it. On a very light stop the front brakes cause a little vibration shimmy through the steering wheel. Anything harder than that and it is very bad. Since this is my first Honda (already did the timing belt-whew!) is it best to get...

510 miles with 1 tank by Rattus The RAT
pushing my record a little further with a 1991 accord LX 2.2L manual. I'm convinced I could have done 30-40 extra miles on the freeway with what was left but a Dallas-Houston-Dallas trip was enough for me and I filled it up back home before the price rose again. I was going 60-62 mph on my trip...

Changing Timing belt by [email protected]
89 civic. I went to a shop and asked about the leaking. The man told me it is the engine oil is leaking not coolant. He said it's about $400 to fix the timing belt, camshaft seal and water pump. I asked him it's bit expensive for 16 yr old car. He said that he used a good part and warned me not to...

Q for Honda techs by Tim Klechak
Sorry to repost this, but I didn't get a response from my first post .....O.K., seems like I only pop in here when I have a problem and need advice, but ........ O.k., I did a valve job on a 1987 Prelude 1.8 carbureted engine, and am just about done, except I need to tighten up the intake manifold....

Unexpected wheel 'spin-out' on the CRV by [email protected]
Hi, Asking this question for my father, who has a 2003 CRV, with 2WD. His CRV exhibits this strange behavior, with wheels spinning out, as if you'd really floored the gas pedal... Except that you hadn't... This mainly happens when starting to move and, most frequently, when turning left (like...

'91 Accord Radio Power Question by Phil
The radio in our '91 Accord would quit working frequently, the display fading in and out, so I decided to replace the unit with a Panasonic CD player. No problem, until I tried to locate the battery power lead that provides 12V power all the time. This lead and all radio wiring leads are clearly...

Trunk Leak by Tim
Hi. I was wondering if anyone has ideas. I have a 99 civic and find after a rain there is water in the trunk. From seeing in the trunk where the water is flowingit seems from the driver's side and I am guessing the "pressure vent". I bought the car used and noticed this was missing so I bought...
