2003 Accord front Brakes with ABS by Mart
Havent done brakes for a few years so is there anything special I need to know for replacing front pads on this car? I usually just undo caliper bolts, compress pad with a c-clamp, scuff rotors if still ok and replace pads. Probably go with ceramics as that is what was original. ...

2006 Crown Vic ABS question by Steve Walker[_3_]
Can I remove the computer from the ABS hydraulic controller without brake fluid leaking? Mine has the intermittent B1342 ECM defective. I believe it is cold solder joints, as during the summer, it was on at all times, but in cold weather, it stays off until the engine warms up, about 3 to 5...

Using distilled water in the radiator? by micky
Lately I've read a lot of talk about using distilled or purified water in the radiator. However, after a normal cooling system fllush, many/most/my cooling system is still half full with water, and to get a 50/50 mix, I add one gallon of antifreeze. So where does distilled water come in? Do...

Zerk fitting torque specs? by phaeton
Sorry, I know that sounds like a silly question. I'm rebuilding most of the front end on my truck- all upper ball joints, all lower ball joints, outer tie rod ends, bushings, and stabilizer links. The truck is a 99 Ranger 2.5L 2WD with coil springs, and these are all Moog parts, for the...

gluing glass to neoprene? by micky
I need to glue glass to neoprene or maybe it is is some other black, glossy, flexible, rubber-looking substance. What glue etc. should I buy? Is it worth trying to rough up the glass? If so, should I use sandpaper, emery paper, etc? I don't know yet if I can clamp the two things together.

Help Troubleshooting Horn Circuit? by Josh[_8_]
My neighbor's 1988 Chevy Caprice's horn stopped working. No other circuits appear to be affected, and there's no fuse just for the horn. I pulled the lead off the horn and applied 12V straight from the battery to the horn's terminal. The horn sounded normally. After reattaching the horn wire I...

I am having trouble diagnosing a hesitation in a friend's vehicle and could use some help from someone much more experienced than myself. It's a 2001 16V Zetec automatic with 165K that has started throwing CEL 301 (Cylinder 1 misfire codes). My friend told me that the vehicle would hesitate at...

Electric door locks - aftermarket by Paul Hovnanian P.E.
I've been looking at fitting these to an older vehicle. It has an alarm system with a door lock/unlock output. So I went on line to search for actuators, relays, etc. The most popular actuators appear to be two wire. They appear to be a small motor with gear reduction driving a slide rather than...

I have a friend with a intermittent issue that I am having trouble diagnosing. It's a 16V Zetec with 165K. It had all of the symptoms of the dreaded defunct in tank fuel pump problem that was recalled. This vehicle was out of the recall with the VIN. It hesitates at "mid speed". It starts fine,...
