Goldfish Dead after Hail Storm by
Ken Kose
Had a freak hail storm on Saturday in Chicago. There was about a1/2
inch of hail (1/4in size) on my deck. The size of the pond is
10'x4'x3'D. I lost 7 goldfish (about 7" in length). What happened? Did
the hail cool the water too quickly? This never happened before.

Whiskey pond barrell issues by
brionjames
I haverecently set up a whiskey pond barrell. I'm having trouble keeping
fish alive in it.They seem to be gasping at the surface and are very
lethargic. This would suggest a lack of oxygen? I have several plants in
there including a lily the leaves of which seem to blacken after a
while. There is a...

Electric blanketweed by
wibble
Taking off the netting today I have just had a good look at my pond
after the winter - and was dismayed to see that blanket weed appears to
already have started to sprout , which considering the coldness I find
amazing. Last year I had a real job keeping it under control. I am sure
its been asked...

Using dechlorinator when topping up by
yorkshirespambo
When I top my pond up how much dechlorinator should I use. I top up from
the tap and our water is chlorinated. Do I use sufficient to
de-chlorinate the full pond (it is a fairly small pond), or do I just
use sufficient to dechlorinate the amount of water I am adding?
I have had a few problems with...

Ground Water by
craig davis
I have a 2000 gal pond with an EPDM liner. When it rains the ground water pushes the liner up and pond water is pushed out of the pond. I have lost two batches of fish this way.
I am considering digging a hole at the deepest point of the pond under the liner and putting a 10 gal galvanized trash...

We have recently cleaned out our pond and pulled out some plants as the

swimming about, feeding well and were almost tame, ie: approaching

My question is how do I fill it with water? (as...

Flat Bottomed Urns by

Does anyone know where I can buy a pre-drilled flat bottomed urn .
Currently, the pipe from my filter goes into the urn, to be poured into

years ago urns like this were in every 'water garden centre'. Now they

concrete pond probs by
Steve999
The top skimmed surface of my pond is in poor health and I an now
considering either re skimming with concrete or applying a fibrglass
coat. If skimming with concrete what is the best product/mix. If I go
the fibre glass route will it adhere to the painted surface of the
pond?
