Trouble Code 42, 97 Jeep Cherokee, How to Troubleshoot? by
wallcm
My 97 Jeep Cherokee with the 4.0L has an error code 42. I cleared the
code and it returned.
The code is defined as the auto shutdown relay short or open. The
vehicle works great so the relay must be working.
Any recommendations on troubleshooting??

Here's a new problem: Again an intermittent problem. I'll be driving down
the road and the speedometer goes to zero and than back up and the trans.
goes back into gear. I originally thought it was a trans problem, but I
have an old cell phone that is powered up by the ignition key that is...

Auto door lock stopped working by
Siggy
I have a 1998 Voyager with electric door locks. This car has a safety
feature that causes all doors to lock automatically when the speed goes
above 7 mph. This feature has stopped working for some reason. The
electric locks still work fine when manually activated.
Is there a computer setting...

LHS Won’t start in Cold weather and Check engine light on. by
jgcurt
Hi we have a 1996 Chrysler LHS that has its check engine light on. We
took it to a mechanic and had the codes read and were told that their
were multiple misfires. The mechanic replaced the spark plugs, a fuel
injector, fuel filter, and it still didn’t fix the problem. So he told
us it was the...

'96 Dodge Caravan sliding door lock by
shacky
The lock on the passenger sliding door of my '96 Caravan doesn't work.
At least not electonically. I took off the door panel and inspected
the works. The actuater seems to be ok, but the metal piece that
connects to the actuater seems to have broken off. I need to order
some parts here, but am...

I have a 1996 neon highline and have noticed that while driving the speedo
needle will drop down to "0" and stay there for awhile. The next day it
will work fine again. Then a day or so latter it will stop working. When
it has stopped working the odometer also doesn't advance. My mechanic...

96 LHS problem by
JWald
Hello,
My sisters '96 LHS with a 3.5l and 133000 mi. was running fine until a fill
up. She says she was going down the interstate and the car began coughing,
and missing, until it finally coughed big and died; no more than 10 miles
down the road from the fill-up. It would not re-start. I suspected...

XtraVision bulbs for 300M? by
Percival P. Cassidy
I know there has been previous comment here on the unavailability of a
straight version of the XtraVision 9005 (or is it 9006? -- the low-beam
one) for use on the 300M, but I was surprised to see the 9005XV
(9006XV?) listed in the Sylvania book as an upgrade for the 300M.
Does this mean that the...

Has anyone tried the new non-GE Bulbs? by
Richard
Non-GE brand HIR 9012 and HIR 9011 bulbs are offered on e-bay for about
$30.00 a bulb. Has anyone given then a try yet? Do they work as well as the
expensive GE part?
Richard.
