Fluid Drive/Solenoid and Governor Problem by Count Floyd
This is for the old timers in this group: Will replacing the solenoid and governor on a 1949 Chrysler Windsor with Fluid Drive help it shift like it is supposed to? All other things check out fine, the wiring and the fluid level in the torque converter. The problem is: If I take my foot off...

Probable Oil Leak/Flathead Six by Count Floyd
I have a completely restored 1940 Royal Coupe, the engine has been completely overhauled. I now have a tiny oil leak, it is not the rear main, could it be the front timing cover seal or possibly the side valve cover gasket. That one looks ok, but are there other areas that could be possible...

Transmission Solenoid/PT Cruiser by Count Floyd
My wife's 2005 PT/Conv started to slip and not engage in gear. We took it to the dealer and he said it was the transmission solenoid, which was covered under the powertrain warranty. I had a 2003 PT/Sedan and never had this problem. Is this a weak spot in the car? The last "solenoid" I...

Clutch not returning by Count Floyd
I have a restored 1940 Chrysler Royal, all restored to original. In the last couple of months, my clutch has started to not "pop" back when released and I have been using my toe to pull it back. Shifting is still good, no clashing, but could this be the spring? I had a friend who knows old...

Why Distributor # on Flathead Six Engines by Count Floyd
I was going to order a set of points, condenser, rotor and cap/wires for my 241.5 c.i. 1940 Royal Six. However, Bernbaum wants the distributor #. Were these so specific to the cars? Also, has anyone had any experience with the waterproof ignition wires with the caps over the plugs so that water...

Would you go with 70 series tires on PT Convertible? by Count Floyd
The 65 series tires look so small and they do not have a good ride, also the profile does not fit the rear wheel cutout. I am wondering if going to a good 70 series tire would be ok. I have the original Goodyear tires on as it is a 2005 model. -- "What do you mean there's no movie?"

Will there be a PT Cruiser Coupe? by Count Floyd
Just thinking whether Chrysler is working on this idea. It would be neat if they would make it look like an early/late '40s Chrysler coupe, sloping deck, small rear window and back window. Keep the '30s/'40's style instead of going for the modern look. -- "What do you mean there's no movie?"

Fiat 500: If This is Chrysler's Future, There is None by Count Floyd[_2_]
Saw the pics and specs on this car. Another Mini clone. No four door model, no room for more than probably two people, where is the family going to sit? Load of groceries? That is what is wrong with this car: This is not the car for Americans. I am a loyal Chrysler owner and the 2007 Caliber...

OK to use synthetic oil in 1941 Chrysler? by CountFloyd
I have a 41 Windsor with only 22K original miles. The engine is completely smooth and the Fluid Drive is perfect. I was wondering if the old flathead 6 could use something like Mobil 1? Would there be any detrimental effects to the engine, gaskets, etc? Also, could I use synthetic in the...

My Dad is very good at car repairs, but he's been unable to find out exactly how to remove the evaporator. He has the whole inside apart and taken out some screws/bolts, but it's still hooked in somehow. Anyone have any experience in this? Any help is greatly appreciated and ASAP. Thanks.

We have 3 speed selections D 3 L, when you drive in "D" and slow down to about 45 km it feels like your getting rear ended. 2006 Grand Caravan -- power locks/keyless entry question by Craig[_3_]
Am new to Dodge family but just purchased a used 2006 Grand Caravan. The van comes with power locks and windows and I assumed when I purchased that this included keyless entry. When I took a test drive the salesman said he couldn't find the proper keys and brought the "spare" key. It was a...
