Hi guys, and tnx for the help received from this group in the past. I have a friend who's 2000 jeep cherokee was popped in the rear the other day. It never cranked again after the incident so we suspect a inertia fuel cutoff. Could anyone point us to where the cutoff is located? I have...

Solved, valve stem seal by Ivan Vegvary[_2_]
My cylinder head must have been remanufactured with fatter valve guides. The guides are 0.01 fatter than the inside diameter of the seals. Having made the measurements the wonderful techs at Fel-pro specified a set that will be a correct fit on the stem but 0.005 too large on the guide. A stop of...

Where to get car rear-deck speakers (haven't bought speakers in decades) by harry newton
I haven't worked on speakers in decades. <http://wetakepic.com/images/2017/12/04/speakers1.jpg> How do we debug a scratchy sound? We can isolate it with the balance to a single speaker. But is it the speaker? Or something else? If it's the speaker, where is a good place (other than the dealer)...

Mazda B2300 steering column by [email protected]
I need to dismantle the upper part of the steering column on my 96 B2300. The part or parts that connect the ignition switch to the key cylinder has broken. I don't know how to get inside the steering column to check/replace parts. Anyone had need to do this, and can advise me?

Valve stem seal help by Ivan Vegvary[_2_]
1991 Mazda B2600i Destroyed 4 new seals on the first valve (easiest to get to) These are thin copper (?) shells with a spring loaded runbber ring on top. Can't seem to drive them straight. I've installed thousands of large seals over the last 60 years, but this has me baffled. Using a socket and...

2.5 ton jack and a 6,900 lb truck by Michael[_23_]
I know that a 2.5 ton jack does not actually equal 6900 lbs, but since it's raising only one end, I'm wondering if it is safe to use it for a vehicle this size. Thanks Mike

Noise Level On Directional & Asymmetric Tires ? (and, relative toNokian WR G3) by Bob[_53_]
Hi, Son and I are both using Nokian WR G3 tires. He has a Subaru Outback. He loves them in the snow and ice conditions, but is always complaining about the noise on a dry road. I have them too, on my 2009 Buick LaCrosse, but they seem pretty quiet to me. But my hearing isn't that great anymore.

Oil by The Real Bev[_5_]
I grew up on 10-30 or 20-40. This is SoCal. No freezing, lots of heat. Synth oil is nice, but expensive. The concept of 0-20 oil, although the manufacturer suggests/demands it, is just alien. We never freeze, we just have to worry about the oil thinning out when the ambient is over...

Questions about choosing the right clutch kit from Marlin Crawler by harry newton
1. What's the practical difference between a 900 & 1200 foot pound pressure plate? (yes, I know, 300 foot pounds). 2. Do you bother replacing non torque to yield pressure plate bolts? 3. Do you change the teeth spacing in your flywheel? I called Marlin Crawler (+1-559-252-7295) today who does not...

brake pedal squeal by [email protected]
'07 Cobalt LS, 60K miles. Recently developed a 'rubber' squeal/squeak (as opposed to a 'metallic' one) when the brake pedal is depressed. Sound comes from under the dash. One URL says to replace the brake fluid. (Doesn't say why.) Other threads talk about possibly a leaking master cylinder. ...

Hello, all, especially those auto body work craftspersons. No matter how diligent one is, sooner or later, while parked next to someone you get one of those small (sometimes not so small) dents/dimples as a result of the other careless person's swinging vehicle door. These dimples stand out...
