before? The tire shops get the wheels on there way too tight, and you
nearely bust a gut getting them off.I bought a ten foot long heavy pipe
at a scrap iron yard.I am going to get out one of my pipe cutters and
cut off about a four feet long lenght of that pipe.I will keep the four

Cheap Fuel? by
[email protected]
Article at www.worldnetdaily.com Anything that grows 'can convert
into oil'
If I could convert my yard grass and weeds and vines clippings and tree
limb prunings into fuel at almost no cost to me, I could run my van for
a year or more on that stuff.

Mercury Marquis Heater Core R/R by
Marv Soloff
My 1996 Mercury Marquis developed a loss of coolant into the passenger
cabin this morning.
My mechanic's snap opinion (he hasn't looked yet) is that the heater
core is shot, followed by
major moaning about how tough it is to pull and replace the heater core
and how much it will
cost because the...

ford taurus rear disc brake caliper servicing by
Bob Fleischer
I'm replacing the pads on the rear disc brakes on my Ford Taurus station wagon.
One of the steps before installing new pads is to retract the piston by
turning it clockwise with a special tool, which I have. I am finding it
nearly impossible to turn the piston, and I was wondering whether it...

Truck won't start by
J
My neighbor has a 1988 Ford F-250 with a fuel-injected V-8 engine. In order
to start it, I must first pull a vacuum line off of the intake and spray
Gumout into the intake as a way of providing it with fuel to get it to
start. Once it starts it is fine. I can shut it off and start it again an...

Why Drive and not Forward? by
Steve W.[_4_]
Ever get one of those HUH? questions stuck in your head? Here's the one
posed to me by a neighbor.
How did PRNDL become the standard nomenclature for automatic transmissions?
P- Park - Makes sense because that it what it does.
R- Reverse - Same as above.
N- Neutral - Ditto
D- Drive, Well you do...

Rack & Pinion Question by
Cindy
I'm changing the steering system on my 1948 Desoto Suburban (9

pinion steering.
I purchased a rebuilt back-steer rack and pinion (45" long) that was
for a
1995-2005 Chevy Cavalier or Pontiac Sunfire. I built the...

05 Aveo MIL "stuck" on? by
Ray[_9_]
A friend of mine has an 05 Aveo5, manual trans.
He recently had the PCM replaced (I believe under warranty?)
Now, the MIL is on.
I hooked up my autotap, and it connects fine - we can see the coolant
temp and stuff, but it says there's no DTC's set. I tried clearing them
anyway, and the light...

Noisy Chev. 3.1 litre motor by
[email protected]
I own a 2001 Chev. Lumina with a 3.1 V-6 that has about 65,000 miles
on it. The motor is quite noisy when it is cold. More of a dull
tapping sound than a click. I do not like to drive it until it has
warmed up some. It quiets down after reaching full temperature. The
motor has always been...

Subaru Trans Band adjustment, again... by
Hachiroku $B%O%A%m%/(B
I took the car out the last few days (Thurs, Fri Sat) and added about 30
miles to the clock. Pleased to report everything seems to have sorted
itself out just fine. No more 'grabbing' after ~1 mile or so, running nice
and smooth, smooth up/downshifts and immediate kick-down.
Whatever it was...
