Timing belt issue by
Mac[_2_]
1990 Mazda Miata. Changed out the timing belt yesterday and in the
process got the cams off. Had the cams clamped in place and tied
together but the wrenches slipped. I know, should of also marked the
gears. After getting the belt on we aligned it by the cam marks but it
seems to be running...

Best bang for buck on rotors and pads? by
pws[_1_]
It's brake service time. I plan to put rebuilt calipers on with new pads
and new rotors. I am leaning towards OEM on both but am thinking about
Hawk pads.
What'cha running for brakes, and what did the rotors and pads cost?
Also, if anyone has a set of either rotors and/or pads gathering dust, I...

Cat rattle - replacement ideas? by
miker
My '96 has a horrendous exhaust rattle - I did the rubber mallet thing and
it seems to be coming from the cat, the front resonator, or both... hard to
tell. The PO put a Flying Miata system on, I think a catback (front
resonator is not rusty, stainless?, dual-tip not-rusty muffler is labeled
Flying...

2004 MSM by
Hal
So I bought a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata, and now I need to sell the 97
NA...
But I wanted to ask some other MSM owners a few questions...to start
off, have you had any problems? Mine has 52,000 miles on it, was a
lease vehicle so I think it was dealer maintained. The only thing I
have noted thus far...

Speakers and windshield by
Tim M.[_2_]
Well, wih the hard top on over the winter, the oem speakers in my '97
Miata M Edition showed their age. I have replaced them with Infiniti
speakers in both the doors and the headrests this past weekend, and
the improvement in sound quality is remarkable. Especially in the
headrests, the sound is...

Re-occurring P1135 engine code on Miata 2000 above 4000 RPM by
Rho
I have replaced the front heated oxygen sensor with a Mazda new unit to
fix a fault consistent with the P1135 indicator and I have cleared the
engine code/CEL. However, whenever I wind up the engine above 4000 RPMs,
the engine light, the P1135 code and 2 sensor indicators (whatever that
is)...

A couple of questions regarding suspension installation by
tonyrama
Ok, so I've been talking for the last couple of years about doing my shocks,
and this year I fianlly had the money to do it. I went back and forth on
doing it myself, but in the end I decided to do it.
So I did the rears with not too much trouble, except that I had to wait for
a shock boot to be...

Damned Squeaks by

There sounds to be a mouse convention under the front wing. I presume it's
bushings. What lube will sort it out without damaging rubber?

hub centering rings: plastic vs. aluminum? by
Grant Edwards
As I was putting on my 3rd snow tire this morning, it dawned on
me that I needed centering rings for the aftermarket wheels
that my snow tires are on. Some places sell poly carbonate
rings, some places sell aluminum ones. Since they're supposed
to bear most of the weight of the car, I would think...

New battery issue by
Jerry
I just got back from the Mazda dealer where they replaced the battery
in the '97 Miata. That's the third battery in three years. The car
belongs to my son who's stationed in Hawaii and could only take one
vehicle with him. I drive it once a week, usually about 16 miles. It
does okay in the...

New NC debuted today by

Probably everyone is still in a haze, weary eyed trying to pass liscense
tests in the new GT4 but hey ya'all, did you catch that Mazda did the
unvieling today. At 11:30 am central time (US). The intro was pretty cool on
the live feed, little small and hard to see much but cool to witness it
live....

T1-S vs. ES100 in 14" size by
josh
Hi all-
How does the T1-S (195/55-14) compare with the Yoko ES100 (195/60-14) for
Miata? Particularly are the Yoko's stiffer in the sidewall? Treadwear
differences? I'm confident either tire will perform well both wet and dry
pavement.
I know everyone loves the T1-S... and I'm leaning...
