I was stuck in some mud after the storm and had to be towed out. It drove fine and then I left it for a few days. When I got back, it started fine with no problems, but has no reverse gear. It'll shift into nutral and drive, but no reverse... Anyone with some ideas?

Rear Wiper gets stuck between door and window by [email protected]
I am trying to find a piece to bridge the gap between the rear door on my 2000 ford explorer and the rear window cause everytime I turn on my rear wiper, it gets stuck between the two. I already burned up my wiper motor cause once it gets stuck there, the motor is trying to fight the blade being...

Replacing power antenna mast on 1998 Explorer by Mark G.
Good morning. The power antenna mast has been snapped off from my 1998 Explorer. What is involved in replacing this? Will I need to access the antenna unit from inside the fender? If so, how do I get access to it? Thanks -Mark

I was test driving a 98 Ford Explorer which was driving fine until I tried the 4W drive switch which is when the transfer case began to make a loud noise..... my question is, if I don't use the 4W drive is this vehicle ok to drive around town or am I looking at certain transmission/driveline...

OEM or good alternative by Ben Kaufman
From a past experience, I am leery about having non OEM (OEM means made by Ford, correct?) suspension parts used in the repair of my 1998 Explorer. Before I insist that the shop I patronize use Ford parts, are there any other brands that are of equivalent quality? Thanks.

2013 Explorer test drive by Ben Kaufman
I tried a 2013 XLT. Street handling has greatly improved over my '98. Rapidly turning the steering wheel right/left changed directions with virtually no body roll, but it "felt" much larger than my '98, not getting much feed back. The salesman also told me that they are not equipping them with...

INCOMING - Picked up some Speedline Magnesium Saleen rims for my 2000 Explorer Limited by Spanks
As I wrote in another post, I am in the middle of several upgrades to my White Pearl 2000 Ford Explorer Limited. I picked up a set of restored pristine Speedline 1908 Rims (18" X 8.5" with the 10mm Offset required by the Explorer) which were originally installed on a Saleen XP8 Ford Explorer. The...

2000 Expedition Rear Differential by Dawnonya
Thanks for the discussion here. You saved me $80. The guys at the oil change place tried to pull this one on me this morning. Showed me some plug covered with gunk and small metal shavings. It's the second time they've tried to get me to have the service performed. Luckily, I pulled out my owner's...

rear window wiper quit by Hollastaguy113
In the back of the truck there is a little compartment on the left hand side, open that and in there, there is your power supply for the windshield wipers in the back. Something could be unhooked or just not gettin any juice. check that out and it could fix your problem.

Washboard effect? by George K.
I'm pretty new to this newsgroup and I saw a previous post about something about a washboard effect. It was for the 2002-2004 model year transmissions. I was wondering what the washboard effect is, could someone explain it to me. I too have a 2003 explorer 4.0 V6, so I was wondering what it...

97 explorer radio lights by Don-Don
I don't want to sound too negative again, but there are a lot of very smart people that are on the Internet. Just because one person sell the information doesn't make them wise. A lot of people (llike myself) are frustrated enough that the radio displays died, and then to have someone post...

Restore color to Exterior black trim? by Richard Ray
Yes, I have heard of it. Yes, it does work for about the same length of time as Armor All. Moral of story is do not put any wax or silicone based material on outdoor plastic trim. Scot wrote: > Has anyone used a product called "Back to Black"? How does it work on > exterior door trim, especially...

Looking for directions to service front hubs (1994 4x4) by Chris
Hello everyone, It has been determined that my front left hub is not engaging, so I'm not getting power to the front wheels in 4 wheel drive. Quick check - since my front axle is not a limited-slip axle, does it make sense that as the front left hub isn't engaging (but the driveshaft...

block heater for cold climates? by Chief_Wiggum
For those of you that live in freezers... I was always curious about having a block heater. Is it common for public places / workplaces to have a place for you to plug in ? Seems like it would be awful generous of them to give away "free" power ?? Just curious... Being born and raised in the...
